摘要： A lamp socket system for an illuminated decorative figure includes a lamp socket with an integral male electrical plug and a flange for mounting the socket in a hole in the decorative figure. The decorative figure is provided with a well surrounding a hole in which the socket is mounted. The well is large enough to accommodate the female end connector of an extension cord and may be provided with an oblong radially extending portion to accommodate an oblong female end connector. When the socket is installed in the hole in the figure and an extension cord is connected to the integral male plug on the socket, the electrical connection between the extension cord and the socket is sheltered by the well. The well protects the electrical connection from rain, snow, and other environmental elements. It also supports the weight of the female end connector of the extension cord so that the socket is not pulled out of the figure. Since the socket is installed at the interior end of the well, it does not protrude from the outer surface of the figure. The socket is thereby protected from damage during shipping and storage of the decorative figure. The decorative figures can be manufactured using conventional molding techniques to provide the well for receiving the socket. The socket can be insert molded with inserted conductive prongs, or can be assembled from several pieces. A fuse may be provided in the socket and the conductive prongs may be partially shrouded.

For example, a combination structure for simulating a universal conception of the appearance of a ghost and Halloween jack-o-lantern pumpkin comprises a flexible sheet member placed over a support bag member and having facial indicia simulating an appearance of a face of a ghost thereon, and a generally rounded bag for receiving filling material and having indicia simulating a pumpkin. The free ends of the sheet member are secured to the ground at spaced apart positions, to provide a substantially pyramidal or generally inverted conical shape, so that, if desired, the resultant structure can flutter when subjected to wind. The support bag member may be fixed to the ground, for example, by means of pegs.

The flexible bag is arranged for receiving a plurality of light-weight and preferably inflatable filler elements and for assuming a substantially tubular shape with rounded ends when so filled so as to simulate a bat body, and the bag member is provided with facial indicia of a bat. The flexible sheet is shaped to simulate bat wings and is attached to the bag. A plurality of closure or bunching means for the flexible bag are provided to cause ear-like protrusions at be formed at the initially open end of the bag member. A plurality of fastener means are provided for fastening the bag and the wing-like sheet together.

摘要： A decorative Christmas tree ornament assembly includes a plastic sleeve with an open top end and an opposed bottom end, at least one closure apparatus, and a hanging apparatus. Where the bottom end of the plastic sleeve is open, it is bunched closed with a closure apparatus such as a twist-tie. A filling material, such as presents and/or crumpled newspaper, batting, tissue paper or leaves, is inserted into the sleeve through the open top end until the sleeve takes on a substantially rounded shape. The top end is bunched closed with another closure apparatus in a fashion similar to the bottom end. The assembled ornament is hung with the hanging apparatus from a tree, such as an evergreen Christmas tree. The top end closure apparatus and the hanging apparatus can be a single long twist-tie, typically eighteen inches long. Methods of forming the outdoor Christmas tree ornament are also described.

The combination structure comprises two flexible bags arranged for receiving filling material therein and for assuming a substantially rounded shape when so filled, with one of the bag assemblies being provided with facial indicia of a Santa and arranged at the top of the stack and other bag assembly having indicia simulating a buckled belt and a pair of mittened hands extending from sleeves with furry cuffs. An additional elongate flexible bag is provided to simulate a tasseled stocking cap and a flexible sheet is provided in the form of a beard. In addition, a plurality of closure or bunching means for the flexible bags are provided, as are a plurality of fastener means for fastening the bags together and to the ground or platform.
