    • A method of operating a terminal of a wireless communication network is disclosed, wherein the terminal operates according to a discontinuous reception mode. The wireless communication network comprises one or more wireless network nodes having at least first and second downlink transmission modes, the first downlink transmission mode comprising normal operation of a particular network node and the second downlink transmission mode comprising restricted downlink transmission of the particular network node and being applicable when the number of active terminals in the cell associated with the particular network node is less than or equal to a second mode threshold value. The method comprises detecting a cell identity for a cell associated with a wireless network node of the wireless communication system, determining a current downlink transmission mode of the wireless network node as the first or second downlink transmission mode, and adapting a time pattern based on the determined current downlink transmission mode, wherein the time pattern specifies when a receiver of the terminal is turned on. Corresponding computer program product and arrangement are also disclosed.

    • Wireless communication network terminal operation is disclosed. The network comprises wireless network nodes having first and second downlink transmission modes. The first mode involves normal operation of a particular network node and is applicable when a number of active terminals in a cell associated with the particular network node is greater than a first mode threshold value. The second mode involves restricted downlink transmission of the particular network node and is applicable when the number of active terminals in the cell associated with the particular network node is not greater than a second mode threshold value. A cell identity is detected for a cell associated with a wireless network node of the wireless communication system. A current downlink transmission mode of the node is detected as the first or second downlink transmission mode, and an operation of the terminal is adapted based on the detected current downlink transmission mode.

    • A method of scheduling wireless data transmissions between a mobile terminal (701) and a base station using multiple component carrier signals is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: receiving in the mobile terminal information from the base station indicating available component carriers; detecting in the mobile terminal at least one dynamic parameter indicative of the mobile terminal's current ability to handle component carriers having non-contiguous bandwidths; determining in the mobile terminal in dependence of the at least one dynamic parameter which of the available component carriers to utilize; and transmitting from the mobile terminal to the base station information indicating the component carriers determined to utilize. By doing this the mobile terminal may choose to limit the number of component carriers used in situations where it is disadvantageous, such as situations where the power consumption of supporting multiple component carriers is high or situations where complex hardware is needed.
