摘要： A top down cementing tool operates with either mechanical manipulation or hydraulically. Rotation of the liner during cementing is enabled. A first bore is open for circulation during running in of the liner. In the hydraulic version, pressuring up on a dropped ball in the first bore opens cement packer setting ports and aligns crossover ports from the first bore to the annulus below the cementing packer and displaced fluid return ports to the annulus above the cementing packer. Pressuring up on a trailing wiper plug in the first bore opens the second bore so that pressuring on a seated ball in the second bore opens access to unsetting the cementing packer and launching the ball in the second bore for liner hanger setting and release of the running tool. The alternative embodiment gets the same result but with string manipulation for some of the realignments.

摘要： A watermelon mill has a cutting structure mounted on a removable sleeve. The mandrel can be in two pieces threaded together to trap a ring or lug extending internally from the sleeve. Alternatively the sleeve can serve as a coupling holding together opposed threaded components that then make up the mandrel. The mandrel can have a radial external shoulder to act as a sleeve travel stop and another sleeve can be pushed into the first sleeve that has the cutting structure on it for proper axial fixation. The second sleeve that does not have cutting structure is pushed into position by making up an adjacent pin and box combination at a nearby connection to the cutting structure. What results is a flexible assembly that assembles without welding and retains greater flexibility in the larger sizes due to the assembly method. The sleeve can be tossed when the cutting structure is spent or redressed and remounted for another use.

摘要： A subterranean tool can drop multiple objects to landing locations in a tubular string. The tool can keep at least one ball out of the fluid stream until ready for release. A dart or wiper plug can be kept in the fluid stream with an open bypass until axial mandrel movement allows release of the plug or dart. The tool is rotationally locked at a lower location for run in and then can rotationally lock at an upper location upon release of the dart or ball. Axial movement that releases the dart can continue until the ball aligns with a decreasing depth groove so that relative part rotation cams the ball against a leaf spring detent and into the mandrel flow path.

摘要： A BHA features an MWD tool connected to a running tool supporting a whipstock that is connected to an open hole anchor. The anchor is flow set and after the anchor is set the running tool collets release from the whipstock to allow cement to be pumped through the anchor to hold the set position. The collets are released from the whipstock also with flow and after the anchor has been set. One way is to use nozzles in series. Another is to run in with a ball on the anchor seat, set the anchor and blow out the ball seat so flow can again be used to release the running tool collets. Another is suspending a ball above the anchor seat, releasing the ball with pressure cycle, open another flow passage to allow collet release of the whipstock. Finally, pressure can be used to release the running tool collets.
