摘要： A tape storage system according to one embodiment includes two or more tape storage apparatuses each having a buffer divided in fixed-length segments, and being connectable to a host, where a first of the tape storage apparatuses is configured to receive multiple data clusters and a synchronization request from a host, and, when one of the segments of the buffer is accumulated and filled with the data, to write the accumulated data onto a tape. A second of the tape storage apparatuses is connected to the first tape storage apparatus, the second tape storage apparatus being configured to receive the multiple data clusters sent from the host via the first tape storage apparatus, and being configured to write a predetermined number of data clusters accumulated in the segments thereof onto a second tape at a timing corresponding to the synchronization request.

The system is a tape storage system including two or more tape drives each of which has a tape mounted thereon and is provided with a buffer divided in fixed-length segments, and connected to a host that sends multiple data and a synchronization request at a predetermined timing to these tape drives. This tape recording system is provided with: a tape drive connected to the host, receiving the multiple data sent from the host, and, when the segment of the buffer is accumulated and filled with data, writing the accumulated data onto a tape; and another tape drive connected to the tape drive, receiving the multiple data sent from the host via the tape drive, and dumping a predetermined number of data accumulated in the segments onto a tape at a timing of receiving the synchronization request.

In a tape drive, a command processing unit 41 receives a synchronization command, and a buffer management unit passes data in a buffer to a channel input-output unit. Upon completion of writing the data to the tape, a backhitch determination unit determines whether a mode information storage unit stores information indicating that a high data rate mode is on, whether data of a target capacity can be written to the tape, and whether the written data can be read at a target read data rate. An operation signal output unit issues a command to execute backhitch in case these conditions are not satisfied.

摘要： A failure detecting apparatus for a hydraulic circuit of a gearbox includes an operating-state detector. The operating-state detector is configured to detect an operating state of a subject to be controlled with a control-signal pressure output from a solenoid valve. A current setting device is configured to set an electrical current supplied to a solenoid so as to close an output oil passage when a modulator valve is normal and to open the output oil passage when an open failure occurs in the modulator valve, while the solenoid valve is conductive. A failure determining device is configured to detect a failure of the modulator valve when the operating state of the subject to be detected by the operating-state detector is abnormal after a value of the electrical current to be supplied to the solenoid is set at the current setting device.
