    • A dry disconnect coupling for connecting one fluid conduit to another fluid conduit to form a continuous flow path, the coupling including a receptacle and a coupler, each being secured to a respective conduit or container. The receptacle and the coupler are secured and locked together to provide a connection for transfer of fluids. A poppet valve is provided and seated in each of the receptacle and the coupler for sealing a respective flow passageway therein when the coupling is uncoupled. The receptacle poppet valve and the coupler poppet valve can be unseated to permit flow of fluid through the coupling when the coupling is coupled and locked. The poppet valve of the receptacle has resilient annular seal member in its poppet sealing surface. The coupler body and poppet and the receptacle body and poppet are provided with a resilient annular seal member at their interfaces; the coupler poppet is self-aligning, and the arrangement of the seal member and the geometry of the coupler body and poppet and the receptacle body and poppet are such that a small interface between the two poppets is provided, so that only a minimal volume of fluid remains in the coupling after uncoupling.

    • A novel hose coupling for a liquid transfer system is provided. The coupling comprises a connector portion adapted to lockingly engage an adapter on a receptacle, such as a gas tank, and a handle portion. The handle is proximate to a releasing member which is oriented for manipulation by a hand holding the handle. The releasing member is moveable between a first engaged position in which the coupling is lockingly engaged with a receptacle adapter and a second disengaged position in which the coupling is released from locking engagement with the adapter. Accordingly, the coupling is disengaged from locking engagement with the adapter when the release member is displaced from the engaged position to the disengaged position. The coupling allows one-handed, ambidextrous use, providing a coupling operator with greater maneouverability which is advantageous particularly in instances where receptacle access is limited.

    • This invention relates to an automatic shut-off valve arrangement for use in fluid transfer systems. In particular, the valve arrangement or assembly may be mounted in a fluid tank or other type of fluid containment zone to automatically shut off flow from a source, when the desired volume of fill is reached. The assembly is for use in automatic or semi-automatic fluid handling systems which include specialized nozzles and coupling systems which eliminate spillage in the process of connection and disconnection of the nozzle and the tank inlet. An automatic shut-off valve arrangement for use in fluid transfer operations which comprises an inlet and an outlet, means for securing the arrangement to a fluid container such that incoming fluid passes through the arrangement when entering the container, the inlet being opened and closed in response to application of external mechanical opening means and/or incoming fluid pressure, and the outlet being normally closed but opened in response to fluid flow through the arrangement to the container, level sensor flow control means, actuated in response to fluid in the tank reaching a predetermined level, and connected to a bleed passage provided with flow restricting means, and arranged to be in communication with incoming fluid and with operating means of a main valve located in a main valve chamber such that fluid back pressure from the level sensor flow control means acts upon the operating means of the main valve to close the main valve and the main chamber such that fluid is no longer delivered to the fluid container and the valve assembly is shut off.
