    • Reusable component data persistence using markup languages may be provided. A file including data associated with a reusable software component may be opened. Next, it may be determined if the file includes a persistence element comprising a dataset. The dataset may contain the data associated with the reusable software component. The data associated with the reusable software component may be described in the markup language and may reference a sub-element in a binary format. In addition, if the file includes the persistence element comprising the dataset, saving the data associated with the reusable software component to the dataset may be performed or loading the data associated with the reusable software component from the dataset may be performed.

    • Techniques are described herein for performing a dictionary-based dependency determination. For example, when a package is selected to be imported from a store (e.g., a database), a dictionary-based dependency operation may be performed to determine which elements of the package are dependent on other elements of the package. A dictionary includes indexes, each of which has at least one value. The indexes correspond to respective resources, and each value indicates an element of the package that produces the resource that corresponds to the respective index. If an element of the package consumes a resource, the indexes and corresponding values in the dictionary may be reviewed to determine which element(s) of the package produce that resource.

The macro objects are then automatically rendered in the graphical user interface. In another embodiment, a selection of macro objects displayed in the graphical user interface may be received via a copy command in the application program. In response to receiving the copy command, the application program may automatically convert the selected macro objects into markup language data.

    • Embodiments are provided for displaying components for visually designing logical structures or macros. In one embodiment, a logical surface component is displayed which may include a design surface. The design surface may be utilized to display data which make up one or more macros. The design surface may be selected for receiving macro data. The received data, which represents a macro design, may then be displayed in the design surface on a display device. In another embodiment, controls for navigating within logical surface components utilized for designing macros may be displayed on a display device. A logical surface component which includes a hierarchical grouping of macro actions may be displayed. One more actions may be selected and an instruction may be received in a visual interface to move selected actions among the hierarchical grouping. In response to receiving the move instruction, the selected actions which were moved may be displayed.
