摘要： An electronic device may include a display. The display may be formed by an array of light-emitting diodes mounted to the surface of a substrate. The substrate may be a silicon substrate. Circuitry may be located in spaces between the light-emitting diodes. Circuitry may also be located on the rear surface of the silicon substrate and may be coupled to the array of light-emitting diodes using through-silicon vias. The circuitry may include integrated circuits and other components that are attached to the substrate and may include transistors and other circuitry formed within the silicon substrate. Touch sensor electrodes, light sensors, and other components may be located in the spaces between the light-emitting diodes. The substrate may be formed from a transparent material that allows image light to reach a lens and image sensor mounted below the substrate.

摘要： An electronic device may display image content via a tile-based display by controlling light emission from display pixels of the tile-based display. Based on image data associated with the image content, a processing circuitry of the tile-based display may receive a potential tile boundary. The processing circuitry may resample the image data based on geometry of the tile boundary and positions of the display pixels on the tile-based panel. After resampling the image data, the processing circuitry may adjust gain of the tile boundary display pixels according to a gain mask to compensate for the tile boundary.

摘要： An electronic device may be provided with a display cover layer mounted to the device using an adhesive bond with a display. The display may be a flexible display. The flexible display may include Organic Light Emitting Diode display technology. The display may be mounted to a rigid support structure. The rigid support structure may be mounted to a device housing member. Mounting the display cover layer to the display may eliminate the need to mount the display cover layer to the device housing and may allow active display pixels to be visible under the display cover layer closer to the device housing than in conventional devices. Providing the electronic device with active display pixels closer to the device housing may reduce the need for an inactive border around the display and may improve the aesthetic appeal of the electronic device.

摘要： An electronic device may be provided with a display, display control circuitry that operates the display, and a color ambient light sensor that gathers ambient light information. Display color cast may be adjusted based on the ambient light information. When the color of ambient light is within an acceptable range of colors, the color cast of the display may be adjusted to more closely match the color of ambient light. When the color of ambient light is outside of the acceptable range of colors, display control circuitry may determine an adjusted ambient light color that is within the acceptable range. The adjusted ambient light color may have the same color temperature as the measured ambient light color. After determining an adjusted ambient light color that is within the acceptable range, the color cast of the display may be adjusted to more closely match the adjusted ambient light color.

摘要： An electronic device may be provided with a display mounted in a housing. The display may include a liquid crystal display module and a reflective polarizer having an in-plane optical axis. The display may also include a backlight unit that includes a light source, a light guide element, and a reflector film coupled to a backside of the light guide element. The display may also include a light retardation layer such as a quarter wave film. The quarter wave film may be arranged between the reflective polarizer and the reflector film of the backlight unit. Partially polarized light that is output from a front side of the light guide element may have a first component parallel to the in-plane optical axis and a second component perpendicular to the in-plane optical axis of the reflective polarizer. The second component may be reflected from the reflective polarizer.
