The flexible structure comprises a plurality of elongated bars having a length axis and being connected to each other, wherein: the bars are arranged mainly parallel to each other, each bar has a first end part, a second end part and a middle part between the end parts, at least two neighboring parallel bars are connected to each other by a connector at their point of connection. At least some of the parallel bars are elastic in such a way that the first end part and the second end part of one bar are arranged rotatable in relation to each other around the length axis of the bar.

The housing part is provided with a set of tracks along which the slide assembly is moveable relative to the housing part. The slide assembly or the housing part includes a component for moving the slide assembly along the tracks on the housing part. This component could be a wire spring, a motor or a gear-provided spring box that moves the slide assembly. The communication unit also has a component for decreasing the friction on the sliding surfaces in a communication unit having a slide. This component could be linear bearings positioned between the moving parts or internally lubricated materials used on the sliding surfaces.

Mechanically coupled to the body part and the grip part there is a spring for effecting the longitudinal slidable movement. A locking mechanism is provided for detachably locking the body part and the grip part into the retracted position. There is also a user-actuatable releasing actuator for releasing the locking mechanism. The releasing actuator is located within the grip part.
