摘要： A method of producing a silicon based alloy is described which comprises melting a silicon alloy containing greater than 50 wt. % silicon and preferably including aluminium. The melted alloy is then inert gas atomized to produce powder or a spray formed deposit in which the silicon forms a substantially continuous phase made up of fine, randomly oriented crystals in the microstructure. The alloy produced by the method has particularly useful application in electronics packaging materials and a typical example comprises an alloy of 70 wt. % silicon and 30 wt. % aluminium. Such an alloy is an engineering material which, for example, is machinable.

摘要： The stages of a multistage amplifier are quickly switched between operational modes, e.g., from a standby mode to an active mode. The delivery of a control signal to each individual stage is delayed so that the modes of the stages are switched, in a desired sequence. The final amplifier stage is isolated from the operational mode switching of the preceding stages by a buffer. For switching the multistage amplifier from the standby mode to the active mode, the stages and the buffer are turned on, in a desired sequence, beginning with the first stage. For switching the multistage amplifier from the active mode to the standby mode, the stages and the buffer are turned off, in a desired sequence, beginning with the buffer. A delay unit includes a plurality of delay units, one connected to each amplifier stage, except the final amplifier stage, and to the buffer.

摘要： A system and method to reduce core loss in the stator of an electric motor by first preparing laminations of the stator and/or rotor in a water jetting operation, punching or stamping operation, laser cutting operation, or similar manufacturing operation, and then subjecting the laminations to a temperature treatment in a manner such that, upon assembly into a stator and/or rotor of an electric motor and operated within expected parameters, core loss is reduced. The system and method subjects the laminations to a cold bath preferably consisting of liquid nitrogen, after stamping but preferably prior to assembly, and then stacking the laminations together for assembly as a stator and/or rotor of an electric motor.
