摘要： A positive planographic printing plate precursor includes a support having disposed thereon a lower thermosensitive layer containing a water-insoluble but alkali-soluble polymer compound and an upper thermosensitive layer containing a water-insoluble but alkali-soluble polymer compound, with alkali-solubility increasing under heat, wherein (i) both the upper thermosensitive layer and the lower thermosensitive layer contain an IR absorbing dye, with the ratio of the IR absorbing dye concentration in the upper thermosensitive layer to the IR absorbing dye concentration in the lower thermosensitive layer is 1.6 to 10.0, and/or (ii) the upper thermosensitive layer and the lower thermosensitive layer contain different IR absorbing dyes, and/or (iii) at least one of the upper thermosensitive layer and the lower thermosensitive layer contains an IR absorbent having, in one molecule, at least two chromophoric groups that absorb IR light, with the chromophoric groups bonding to each other via a covalent bond.

Solubility of the material in an aqueous alkaline solution is increased upon heating. In the formula (I), X represents a monovalent terminal group having 2 or more carbon atoms or a linking group of —CY1Y2— or —CHY1— in which Y1 and Y2 each represent a monovalent terminal group having 1 or more carbon atoms, W represents a monovalent terminal group, and n represents an integer from 1 to 4.

The recording layer contains an alkali-soluble resin, which has a fluorine atom in the molecule, and an infrared absorbing agent. The alkali-soluble resin can be provided by introducing at least one substituent having a fluorine atom to a known alkali-soluble polymer compound.

摘要： In a method of producing a photosensitive planographic printing plate according to the present invention, a web is coated with a coating solution, and a coating solution film thus formed is rapidly dried. For this drying, fresh air is blown onto the web W heated with a heat roll such that the air is blown parallel to the coating solution film. The coating solution film can thereby be prevented from changing its thickness due to an air stream during drying, while the coating solution film can be rapidly dried. Accordingly, the coating solution film can be dried before the film is leveled, to form a coating layer having uniform thickness.
