摘要： A map distribution system includes a map distribution server that distributes map data to a navigation device. The server includes a first table having entries that each include update data in correspondence with an ID for the update data and an ID for each other update data upon which the update data depends, a second table having entries that each include an area ID of an area of the map data in correspondence with a version of the area and the ID for each update data that is applied in the version of the area, and an update manager that refers to the second table to select the ID for each update data required for updating an area selected based on input from the navigation device and the required ID for each other update data upon which any update data required for updating the area selected depends.

摘要： A map data distribution system includes a server which distributes map data and a mobile terminal which receives the map data. The server stores, for each area, the difference data between pieces of map data obtained before and after updated, and sends the difference data of map data of an area requested by the mobile terminal to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal includes a database for storing map data and an updated-data store part for storing updated map data, generates updated data by using the received difference data, stores the updated data in the updated-data store part and then in the database. To fetch map data while the updated data is being stored from the updated-data store part to the database, when the map data to be fetched is stored in the updated-data store part, the mobile terminal fetches the map data from the updated-data store part.

摘要： In the case that a road is updated in units of specific areas in order to reduce the amount of communication data, the quality may degrade; for example, a network of roads is disconnected. To solve this problem, alterations to map data are grouped into map update data of the unit in which a network of links to update connects, and an ID is assigned to each map update data. Also, the map update data that may cause disconnection and the map update data that connects the connected components are detected from among all the past map update data, and these map update data are distributed so that they are always applied at the same time.

摘要： If a wireless resource congestion occurs, the wireless resources of the entire system are used efficiently to reduce a disconnection of communication with a congested sector and a state in which a new call cannot be originated nor terminated. A base station control apparatus compares the wireless resource usage amount of each sector of each base station with values stored in a wireless resource threshold table. If a sector of a base station is in the light congestion state, the neighbor search window size of a sector specifying the congested sector as a neighbor is changed to restrict a soft hand-over to the congested sector. If a sector of a base station is in the heavy congestion state, a mobile station which is communicating in the congested sector and receiving radio waves of another sector with stability is subjected to a forced soft hand-over.
