    • An alternator includes a stator and a rotor disposed inside the stator and rotated by an engine of an automobile. The stator is composed of a cylindrical stator core and a stator winding held in the stator core. The stator winding extends from an axial end of the stator core, forming a circular coil end along an axial circumference of the stator core. Lead wires led out from phase-windings in the stator winding are held on and along the circular coil end and bonded thereto with adhesive. A depressed ditch is formed on the coil end, and the lead wires are disposed in the depressed ditch and firmly held therein to prevent movement of the lead wires relative to the coil end.

    • A stator includes a stator coil formed of electric wires which include a joined pair of first and second electric wires. The first electric wire has a lead portion led out from the radially inner periphery of a first slot of a stator core and including a crossover part. The crossover part crosses over an axial end face of an end part of the stator coil from the radially inside to the radially outside of the axial end face; the end part protrudes from an axial end face of the stator core. The second electric wire has a lead portion led out from the radially outer periphery of a second slot of the stator core. The lead portions of the electric wires are joined together with a joint formed therebetween. The joint is positioned closer to the axial end face of the stator core than the crossover part is.

    • The vehicle AC generator includes a frame including an end wall section and a peripheral wall section, a stator core, a stator coil having rear and front coil ends projecting axially rearward and frontward respectively from the stator core, a rotor supported by the frame, and a cooling fan having centrifugal blades and fixed to the rotor. The peripheral wall section has a cooling air discharge opening adjoining the end wall section. The end wall section has a centrifugal-blade-facing portion axially facing the centrifugal blades, and a coil-end-facing portion axially facing the rear coil end. The coil-end-facing portion is bent at a predetermined curvature radius and extending from the centrifugal-blade-facing portion to the cooling air discharge opening. The inner end surface of the coil-end-facing portion is formed with a recess located axially rearwardly of a radial extension line of an inner end surface of the centrifugal-blade-facing portion.

    • An AC generator has negative pole-side rectifier devices press-fitted to a holder fin so as to dispose a bottom face of the rectifier device on a surface of the holder fin. The holder fin is disposed in such a manner that the bottom face of the rectifier device faces a rear frame of the AC generator. A clearance is formed between the rear frame and the bottom face through which the cooling wind for the rectifier device flows. The rear frame is provided with a slant face on its outer wall face for inducing the cooling wind introduced through an opening of the protection cover of the AC generator to the rectifier devices. Thus, the cooling wind induced by the slant face can hit on the bottom face of the rectifier devices directly, so as to cool the rectifier device well.
