    • Methods and systems for controlling ambient light effects associated with video content are provided. The method includes providing a receiving device configured to parse an incoming video file. The video file includes at least one track specifying at least one ambient light effect associated with at least one portion of the video file. The at least one track includes chrominance control data specifying at least one light color to be generated by the at least one lighting device. The method also includes parsing the video file at the receiving device to separate the track specifying the ambient light effect and the chrominance control data and sending a command to at least one lighting device to generate the ambient light effect specified in the track and the chrominance control data.

    • A system and method for controlling ambient light effects in video gaming are provided. The system includes a gaming device including at least one processor programmed to parse incoming video game content to detect at least one portion of the video game content and determine at least one ambient light effect to be associated with the at least one portion of the video game content. The system also includes at least one lighting device in communication with the gaming device. The processor of the gaming device is programmed to send a command from the gaming device to the at least one lighting device to specify at least one ambient light effect determined by the at least one processor to be associated with the at least one portion of the video content. After receiving the command, the at least one lighting device generates the specified ambient light effect.

    • Methods and systems for controlling ambient light effects associated with video content are provided. The method includes providing a receiving device configured to parse an incoming video file. The video file includes at least one track specifying at least one ambient light effect associated with at least one portion of the video file. The method also includes parsing the video file at the receiving device to separate the track specifying the ambient light effect and sending a command to one or more lighting devices to generate the ambient light effect specified in the track from the receiving device.     • Methods and systems for producing ambient light effects based on video content are provided. A method of producing an ambient light effect includes providing a receiving device including a processor configured to parse incoming video content and receiving the video content including a plurality of scenes at the receiving device. The method further includes parsing the incoming video content and detecting at least one scene in the video content for association with at least one ambient light effect. The method also includes generating a command specifying at least one ambient light effect to be associated with at least one scene and sending the command from the receiving device to at least one lighting device in communication with the receiving device to generate at least one ambient light effect associated with at least one scene when the scene is displayed to a user.

A system includes a receiving device including at least one decoder programmed to parse an incoming video file to separate at least one track including at least one ambient light effect associated with at least one portion of the video file.     • A system, method, and computer program product are provided for health and security monitoring. A sensory device monitors user voice and keystroke input, and measured safety factors such as user heart rate, ambient light and sound levels, the approach of vehicles, and detection by a camera of an approaching person optionally including information regarding the person's criminal background. If the sensory device and/or user determines a situation is occurring that meets trigger conditions, the sensory device issues a user notification, decreases speaker volume, and issues an alert to a local response group. The local response group comprises trustworthy strangers who may be able to respond more quickly than regular emergency responders to a typical 911 call. The alert may be wirelessly transmitted by a smartphone and has selectable content and urgency level. Users may include children, disabled or elderly persons, soldiers, policemen, security officers, and lone women.
