    • A method and system for implementing a multimedia call are provided. The method includes: after receiving a calling request from a VoIP client, a calling controller transmitting the calling request to an application server; the application server acquiring rate options of calling respective called numbers by the VoIP client and returning the rate options to the calling controller, wherein the respective called numbers comprise one or multiple numbers registered by and/or bound with a called party of the calling request; the calling controller transmitting the rate options to the VoIP client, and suspending call handling of the calling request; and, after receiving a rate option selected by the VoIP terminal among the rate options, the calling controller transmitting the rate option selected by the VoIP terminal to the application server, resuming the call handling, and connecting a call between the VoIP client and a called terminal of a called number corresponding to the rate option selected. The disclosure shows the rate of the call before connecting the call, thereby improving user experience.

    • A system and method of the present invention for implementing multimedia calls across a private network boundary is provided, the system comprising a public network and at least one private network, and at least the following hardware components: at least one media gateway for connecting with multimedia terminals of various protocols; at least one boundary gateway for connecting the private network and the public network and performing the translation of a private network address and a public network address between each other, wherein each boundary gateway is provide with an unique subnetwork ID to correspond to the private network connected therewith; a call controller for establishing calls and controlling service logics, in which is recorded the correspondence relationship information of all said boundary gateways and the subnetwork IDs; wherein, the call controller processes a call concerning a private network according to the subnetwork ID information. The system and method of the present invention is simple to implement, has high efficiency and wide application range; saves the boundary gateway resources, does not modify the signaling content and retain its integrity; is applicable to the media gateways of various protocols, and has a high adaptability.

    • A method and system for implementing a multimedia call are provided.     • The present invention discloses a method for realizing signalling agent based on a media gateway control protocol, which comprises the following steps of: providing an agent equipment between media gateways and a media gateway controller that locate in different networks, the agent equipment providing signalling agent and network address translation between different networks; requesting for registering to the media gateway controller from a media gateway; for a MGCP/MEGACO signalling that is not related to media between the media gateway controller and the media gateway, directly replacing a transaction number by the agent equipment and then forwarding; for a MGCP/MEGACO signalling that is related to media, processing a media identifier correspondingly by the agent equipment and then forwarding. According to the present invention, transparent traversing of MGCP/MEGACO protocol among different networks can be realized to make a media gateway controller control media gateways not matter which network they locate in, in which messages on media gateways are dynamically generated by the agent equipment according to MGCP signallings, and operation maintenance cost decreases.
