摘要： A gateway circuit which exchanges information between a leased-line information transmission system and a power line carrier information transmission system includes a control circuit which receives and formats information transmitted over the leased-line information system and a separate control circuit which receives and formats information received over the power line carrier system. The formatted information is provided to a third control circuit which buffers the information and converts between the leased-line format and the power line carrier format to enable signal exchange between the two information transmission systems. The general control circuit responds to load control commands generated by manual switches located on the control unit and to load control commands forwarded over the leased-line system. The general control unit also contains storage elements which maintain the operating state of electrical loads on the power line and only transmit control information when an operating state must be changed.

摘要： A terminal unit for use in an information transmission system disposed between an information transmission line in the information transmission system constituted of signal lines for transmitting a signal by conduction therethrough of a direct current having positive polarity and negative polarity and controlled equipment as one terminal of the system, including at least a coupling circuit for transmitting and receiving a signal to and from the transmission line by converting the signal into a direct current as aforesaid and converting such a direct current into the signal, a transmission control device controlling transmission and reception of a signal according to a protocol for signal transmission, and a transmission circuit and a reception circuit disposed between the coupling circuit and transmission control device for making signal transmission and reception, respectively, and further, comprising a polarity detection circuit for detecting polarity of the direct current voltage supplied from the signal lines and a polarity switching circuit for switching polarities of a signal delivered to the transmission line depending upon the result of detection in the polarity detection circuit.

A rare gas including Kr and a mercury vapor source are sealed in the bulb, which is energized by an igniting device having a high-frequency power supply connected to a DC power supply for generating a substantially sinusoidal high-frequency output voltage, and a quiescent period generator connected to the high-frequency power supply and including a switch 17 turned on and off at least once during each half cycle to provide a quiescent period and thereby produce a substantially square wave high-frequency output voltage having rise and fall times of 2 .mu.s or less.

摘要： A lighting circuit for an electric discharge lamp according to the present invention is constructed in such a way that a switching device is provided at an output terminal of a high frequency inverter which produces a substantially sinusoidal output voltage, and that, by controlling this switching device, an output to the low pressure electric discharge lamp is stopped at the rising part of the abovementioned output voltage in its half cycle, while the output is supplied to the low pressure electric discharge lamp at the voltage level in the vicinity of the maximum instantaneous value thereof. By use of the high frequency inverter of a smaller capacity and less radio noise than those in the conventional device, the operating efficiency of the low pressure electric discharge lamp can be increased.
