    • An image forming apparatus having an automatic document feeding unit so as to successively read documents is disclosed. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to form an image on a printing medium, an image reading unit pivotally coupled to an upper portion of the image forming unit to expose and shield a top of the image forming unit, an automatic document feeding unit pivotally coupled to an upper portion of the image reading unit to expose and shield a top of the image reading unit, and a locking device to selectively expose any one of the top of the image forming unit and the top of the image reading unit. Since the locking device prevents the top of the image forming unit and the top of the image reading unit from being simultaneously exposed, the automatic document feeding unit can be prevented from being damaged due to the simultaneous exposure of the top of the image forming unit and the top of the image reading unit.

    • A print medium feeding apparatus, comprising: a knockup plate on which a ream of print medium is stacked thereon; a pickup roller for picking up a sheet of print medium stacked on the knockup plate; a sheet separation member installed in a manner to form a contact nip with the pickup roller, and supplying friction force for separating the print medium sheet by sheet; and a friction pad disposed at an upper side of the sheet separation member, being in front of the contact nip. The print medium feeding apparatus of the present invention features an improved paper feeding capacity in that variable friction force is applied for separating printing medium. Moreover, since the friction pad does not come in contact with the pickup roller, the abrasion rate of the friction pad is much reduced. Furthermore, the material cost can be reduced by reducing the size of the friction pad.

    • An image forming apparatus having an automatic document feeding unit so as to successively read documents is disclosed.     • An image forming apparatus in which at least one of image forming means such as a photosensitive medium, a developing means and a cleaning means are unitized.     • An automatic sheet feeder for an ink jet printer is disclosed. The automatic sheet feeder includes a sheet support fixed to a frame. A shaft is rotatably secured to an upper portion of the sheet support, and rotates in a specified direction by a driving force from a driver. A sheet width adjusting guide is movably mounted on one side of the shaft such that a front end is movable along the shaft and a rear end is slidable keeping in contact with the sheet support. At least one feeding roller assembly is rotatably mounted on another side of the shaft, and includes a feeding roller for feeding a sheet by a rotation force of the shaft. The shaft rotates in such a direction that the feeding roller contacts the sheet, and the feeding roller rotates in an opposite direction of the shaft.

    • An image forming apparatus capable of increasing the speed of successively discharging printed printing media in order to increase the overall print speed and a control method thereof. The image forming apparatus includes a first discharge roller to feed printed printing medium rearward from a print unit disposed at an inner front portion of a main body, a reverse roller to reverse a moving direction of the printed printing medium fed from the first discharge roller from a rear to a front of the main body, a second discharge roller to discharge the printed printing medium whose moving direction is reversed outside, and an intermediate discharge roller unit which is provided between the first discharge roller and the reverse roller, the intermediate discharge roller unit including a main roller, a sub discharge roller and a sub supply roller which are in contact with the main roller. While a preceding printed printing medium fed from the reverse roller is discharged between the main roller and the sub discharge roller, a following printed printing medium fed from the first discharge roller is supplied between the main roller and the sub supply roller. Accordingly, since the interval between the preceding printed printing medium and the following printed printing medium becomes shorter than that of a conventional image forming apparatus, the speed of successively discharging printed printing media increases, and as a result the overall print speed increases.
