摘要： A signal processing unit in a liquid crystal display device, etc., includes a brightness component appearance frequency measuring unit that measures an appearance frequency of each brightness component in a video signal; a parameter outputting unit that outputs a distribution of each brightness component, as a parameter, based on the appearance frequency of each brightness component measured by the brightness component appearance frequency measuring unit; a changing signal outputting unit that alters an input signal recorded in a recording unit, by using the parameter, and that outputs the input signal as a changing signal; and a brightness component changing unit that changes a distribution of each brightness component, by using the changing signal, and that outputs the video signal in which the distribution of each brightness component is changed.

摘要： To make it possible to mute voice signals properly according to a headphone or antenna connected. A device for receiving radio signals and outputting voice signals from a first speaker. The device comprises a connection unit having the terminal of an antenna and/or a second speaker connected therewith, a reception unit for receiving the radio signals through the antenna connected with the connection unit, a mute instructing unit for detecting whether or not the terminal has been connected with the connection unit, to output the voice signals to the first speaker, in case the terminal, is not, connected with the connection unit, and to mute the output to the first speaker, in case the terminal is connected with the connection unit, a switch for selecting the activation/deactivation of the mute, and a mute control unit for deactivating the muting function of the mute instructing unit, in case the mute deactivation is selected by the switch, and for outputting the voice signals to the first speaker, even in case the terminal is connected with the connection unit.

摘要： A display apparatus is capable of switching the operation of a backlight for illuminating a liquid crystal panel, between a synchronization mode supporting a moving image for flashing the backlight in synchronism with switching of frames of the image and a non-synchronization mode supporting a static image for flashing the backlight in asynchronism. A moving image process detecting unit detects a moving image process for displaying a moving image on a display apparatus among the processes currently being executed. A screen state monitoring unit determines that the moving image screen detected by the moving image process detecting unit is maximized and positioned at the foreground, and instructs the display apparatus to switch the backlight into the synchronization mode.

Because of this, a driving device which drives a plurality of loads (ex. Cold-cathode tubes) in sequence includes a driving part which drives each of the loads in sequence by means of time division, and an abnormality detection part which detects abnormality of each of the loads at the time of the drive of each of the loads. The driving device detects abnormality of a load correspondingly to the sequential drive of each of the loads.
