    • A smart water pump includes a housing (5). An outlet box cover (13) is arranged on the top of the housing (5), and a power plug (1) is arranged at an upper part of the outlet box cover (13). A circuit board (2) is arranged within the housing (5); a rotor (4) and a stator (6) are arranged under the circuit board (2). A motor front cover (7) is arranged at a lower part of the housing (5); a turbine housing (8) is arranged under the motor front cover (7); an impeller (10) is arranged within the turbine housing (8), and the impeller (10) shares a rotary shaft (3) with the rotor (4). A water outflow pipe (14) is arranged on one side of the housing (5), and a water level sensor (12) is arranged on the other side of the housing (5). The water level sensor (12) includes a sensor box (15). A sensing probe is arranged on the sensor box (15), and includes a high water level probe (16), a low water level probe (17), and a ground probe (18). The high water level probe (16) is shorter than the low water level probe (17), and the low water level probe (17) is shorter than the ground probe (18). Water pumps employing the water level sensor (12) can control the rotation of the water pump on the basis of the water level, ameliorating a common scenario with existing water pumps in which the water pump does not work when water is available and works when water is unavailable.

    • A process provided for the preparation of the (S)— and (R)-alpha-ethyl-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidineacetamide of formula:(1) from (RS)-alpha-ethyl-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidineacetic acid of formula:(2) comprising: i) combining the (RS)-2 with a chiral base (resolving agent) in a resolution solvent and crystallizing from the said mixture the diastereomeric salt of (S)— or (R)-2 and chiral base; ii) regenerating (S)— or (R)-2 from the crystallized diastereomeric salt by treating with a suitable acid or acidic ion-exchange resin; iii) optionally regenerating (R)— or (S)-2 or their mixture (predominantly one enantiomer) from the crystallization mother liquor by treating with a suitable acid or acidic ion-exchange resin; iv) optionally epimerizing (RS)-2 by treating (R)— or (S)-2 or their mixture (predominantly one enantiomer) of step iii with an acid anhydride; V) optionally converting (RS)-2 of step iv into enantiomerically enriched (S)— or (R)-2 through steps i and ii; vi) formation of the mixed anhydride by reacting (R)— or (S)-2 with an alkyl or aryl sulfonyl halogen compound RSO2X in the presence of a suitable base; and vii) reacting the mixed anhydride with ammonia; wherein R represents C 1 to C 15 alkyl or aryl groups such as methyl, ethyl, p-toluenyl, 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl, 2,4,6-trichloribenzyl, and X represents a halogen atom such as F, Cl and Br atoms.

    • The present invention relates to a hanging clamp for different size rods, which comprises a L-shaped base having a body, a rotatory piece capable of rotating at a predetermined angle, as well as a clamping member also capable of rotating at a predetermined angle; wherein a retaining portion projects out of one end of body, the rotatory piece is pivoted at a proper position of body by means of a first pivotal axis, while the clamping member is pivoted at one end of rotatory piece by using a second pivotal axis; furthermore, the clamping member in response to the retaining portion is provided with an arc-shaped clamping surface having a concentric circle, whereby enabling the rotatory piece pivotally rotate the clamping member to clamp different size rods, by using the changeable distance between the clamping surface and the retaining portion; prefectably, the clamping member can also pivotally rotate to increase or decrease said changeable distance between the clamping surface and the retaining portion, so as to expand the clamping size range of hanging clamp for different size rods by using the changeable distance of double pivotal axis.
