摘要： A tandem laser scanning unit (LSU) is provided. The tandem LSU includes a light source, a beam deflector, and an optical scanning lens. The beam deflector rotates on a light-emitting path of the light source to simultaneously deflect different light beams obliquely incident at a predetermined angle to each other within a sub-scanning plane substantially parallel to the rotational axis of the beam deflector. The optical scanning lens allows the light beams deflected by the beam deflector to be condensed on corresponding photosensitive drums. The optical scanning lens includes at least one sub-scanning cross-section having an aspherical surface to reduce the curvature of a scanning line. Using the tandem LSU, the distortion and curvature of the scanning line are corrected while providing an oblique incidence optical system having advantages in terms of manufacturing costs and driving efficiency.

The light absorption device includes a plurality of dielectric layers containing nano-rods. Surface plasmon resonance generated in response to certain wavelengths corresponding to the dielectric constants of the dielectric layers can result in an improvement in the light absorption efficiency. Further improvements can be realized by adjusting the dielectric constants of the dielectric layers.

摘要： A light-absorptive device for absorbing light includes a light source configured to emit light and a light-absorptive element configured to absorb the light emitted from the source. The light-absorptive element includes a light-absorptive layer in which a nano-component comprised of one or more nano particles coated with a shape keeping agent is dispersed. The aspect ratio(s) and/or the dielectric constant of the light-absorptive layer may be selectively varied to realize a peak wavelength of absorption spectrum that corresponds to the wavelength(s) of the light emitted by the light source. The light-absorptive device may be incorporated as a heating unit, such as a fixing unit of an image forming apparatus to fix toner images on to a recording medium.

摘要： Disclosed are a line light source, a line printer head, and an image forming apparatus. The line light source includes a light waveguide unit which guides light emitted from a light emitting layer which is disposed between a bottom electrode and top electrodes, wherein the light waveguide unit is disposed on the top electrodes. Light is emitted through the surface area of light emitting areas defined by overlapping areas of the bottom electrode and the top electrodes. The light waveguide includes a plurality of openings, the sizes of which may be different than the surface area of the light emitting areas. The light emitting amount can be adjusted by adjusting the light emitting surface areas without reducing printing resolution of the image forming apparatus by employing the disclosed line light source as the line printer head.
