    • The present invention discloses a repair structure for a liquid crystal display and a method of repairing the same to repair a defect caused by a short circuit between a scan line and a data line. More specifically, a repair structure for a liquid crystal display having a substrate includes a scan line on the substrate, a data line crossing the scan line and having first, second, and third segments, wherein the second segment is an electrically isolated from the first and third segments and located at a portion where the scan line and the data line overlap, and a repair pattern electrically isolated from the second segment and electrically connecting the first segment with the third segment of the data line.

    • An liquid crystal display device having an electrostatic prevention circuit by using a diffraction exposure, and a method for fabricating the same are disclosed in the present invention. The liquid crystal display includes a substrate having a display area and a non-display area; a data line disposed along a first direction on the substrate and having a metal layer and a semiconductor layer; a gate line disposed along a second direction crossing the data line, defining a pixel region; a common voltage line on the non-display area; pixel electrodes at each pixel region; a first electrostatic prevention pattern electrically connected between the gate line and the common voltage line; and a second electrostatic prevention pattern electrically connected between the data line and the common voltage line.

    • A TFT array substrate has a substrate with a pixel region and a switching region. A gate line has both a gate electrode that extends into the switching region and a gate pad is formed on the substrate. A gate pad electrode is formed on the gate pad. A data line includes both a source electrode that extends from the data line into the switching region and a data pad. A data pad electrode is formed on the data pad.     • A liquid crystal display device is formed wherein pattern defects generated during the process are eliminated to reduce the need for repairs. In the device, a trench-shaped hole is defined by patterning a passivation layer and a gate-insulating layer at the peripheries of a gate line and a data line to expose a transparent substrate. Accordingly, a protruding defect portion at the pixel area caused by pattern defects in the semiconductor layer and the gate line is removed by the trench-shaped holes defined by patterning the passivation layer and the gate insulating layer at the peripheries of the gate line and the data line, so that a separate repair process is not required.
