    • A garment hanger construction wherein a hook is adapted to be releasably secured to a hanger body in a first locked position and a second swivel position, is provided. The hook includes an elongated shaft having at least first and second projections. The hanger body includes a bearing sleeve for receiving the elongated shaft, the bearing sleeve having a projection receiving slot and a projection receiving groove. The hook is coordinately axially displaceable between a first locked position wherein the first projection is disposed in the slot in the bearing sleeve to thereby prevent the hook from rotating and a second swivel position wherein the second projection is disposed in the groove to permit the hook to freely swivel with respect to the hanger body.

    • The base defines a liquid retaining reservoir and has a cover with a straw containing compartment which includes a tubular section and an enlarged section. A pivotally mounted lever has a portion accessible from the exterior of the container and an interior portion situated within the enlarged section of the straw containing compartment. In the retracted position of the straw, a lid seals the straw opening in the cover and the straw seals the liquid passage between the base reservoir and the tubular section. When pivoted, the lever moves the straw up the compartment to open the lid and protrude above the cover. The interior portion of the lever is bifurcated and moves through an arcuate path. The enlarged section is shaped to accommodate this arcuate travel path.

    • A mechanism for mounting and removing a blade having an elongated slot mounting means from a blade handle which has a mounting boss for insertion into the elongated slot. The mechanism includes a handle guide forming one side of a passageway for insertion of the handle therethrough, the handle guide having a flexible body which is sufficiently flexible to allow deflection of the handle for withdrawal of the boss out of mating relationship with the elongated slot. The mechanism further includes blade extracting means fixed opposite the handle guide forming a second side of the passageway and having a blade retaining projection arranged adjacent the passageway which can be actuated to prevent withdrawal of a blade from the passageway. Finally, an actuation means is included which is fixed for actuation of the blade extracting means upon deflection of the handle sufficient to disengage the boss from mating relationship with the elongated slot so that a blade mounted on the handle can be removed therefrom when the handle is withdrawn from the passageway. The present invention also includes a device including such mechanism in combination with a blade retaining and/or disposal well which can serve as a blade dispenser and/or disposal device.

    • The present invention is directed to an improved bearing construction of the ball bearing type which is particularly suitable for supporting drawer slides and the like for translatory movement. The bearing comprises a tire defining an outer bearing race, a stud defining an inner bearing race, a plurality of balls captured between the races, the device being characterized by the stud including an axially directed annular retainer surface, portions of which are deflected radially, which deflected portions provide a temporary connection precluding separation of the bearing elements. The annular surface, after deflection, defines a stop or locator surface against which a support bracket is biased in the final assembled position thereof, the corrugated or crown-like end surface formed as a result of deflection, providing a high frictional surface whereby augmented connection between the bearing and the support bracket is assured.

    • A banding assembly has a needle at one end, a long thin band, and a buckle at the other end. The buckle is provided with upstanding elements on either side of a channel which receives the band. The elements have openings adapted to be engaged by a towel clamp to retain the buckle as the band is drawn through the channel and locks into position. The elements are normally spaced apart by a distance slightly less than the width of the band. Once locked into place, the band is trimmed, leaving a tail extending from the buckle. The tail is bent backwards and "snap fits" between the elements. The elements are then crimped over the tail to retain it on the buckle and to cover any sharp edges. A dome-like member is provided to guide the band into the channel. The buckle is attached to the end of the band by spaced tabs which extend through openings in the band and are crimped toward each other.
