摘要： A non-invasive method and system for monitoring core body temperature (Tc) of a user continuously so as to prevent the risk of over-heating. The system comprises a detection unit to be worn in the user's ear for measuring physiological data of the user by a plurality of sensors and an analysis unit connected to the detection unit via a communication link for computing Tc of the user with a prediction model using the physiological data measured by the detection unit where the effects of heart rate and external environmental temperature on auditory canal temperature of the user are taken into account. The sensors comprise two sensors (207, 208) for measuring auditory canal temperatures and sensors (209, 210) for measuring heart rate and external auricle temperature respectively. The prediction model is preferably a random forest prediction model or a linear or polynomial regression model. An over-heating state of the user is determined when the computed Tc is above a threshold level (e.g. above 40° C.).

摘要： An earpiece comprising a sensor for detecting light in the ear canal. The sensor is held in a cradle to reduce field-of-view. The reduced field-of-view reduce the possibility of light reaching the sensor in a tangential angle. Therefore, the chance of ambient light and light from an emitter reaching the sensor directly is reduced. This improves the likelihood that the readings of the sensor has a greater portion from light that has travelled through the tissue of the ear canal than not.

摘要： A method for transmitting a data signal from a sending-end 100 to a receiving-end 200 includes the steps of spreading the data signal into a spread spectrum signal, combining the spread signal with an analogue signal into a mixed signal. The mixed signal can be transmitted or broadcasted to the receiving-end 200. The receiving-end is able to play or use the analogue signal without significant noise from the spread spectrum signal. The spread spectrum signal can be retrieved by inverse-spread-processing the spread spectrum signal to retrieve the data signal. The sending-end can be in a headphone 900 and the receiving-end can be in a mobile phone 910, or the sending-end can be a loudspeaker broadcasting the analogue signal to a mobile phone picking up the analogue signal by the microphone in the mobile phone.
