    • A voltage level control circuit controls a target slicing voltage level to slice a video signal by a target circuit. The voltage level control circuit includes a slicing circuit for sequentially slicing the video signal by a plurality of slicing voltage levels to correspondingly generate a plurality of first clock signals; a detection circuit for respectively detecting a plurality of phase differences between the first clock signals and a plurality of corresponding second clock signals to generate a plurality of detection signals; an oscillating circuit for generating the second clock signals according to the detection signals, respectively; and an adjusting circuit for determining whether to adjust the target slicing voltage level according to the detection signals corresponding to the slicing voltage levels.

    • An on-demand video delivery system, comprising: a program center having a content server for receiving and storing media signals representing humanly perceptible video programs and for converting the media signals into coded media data suitable for streaming over the Internet; and a plurality of delivery servers, each connected to the content server and the Internet for establishing an unicast link over the Internet with a respective one of a plurality of set top boxes (STBs) to deliver, upon request made from an STB for a video program, the requested video program by streaming over the Internet using Internet Protocol (IP), wherein each of the STBs includes: a buffer for receiving and temporarily storing a requested video program streamed from a delivery server over the Internet; a decoder for converting the coded media data to humanly perceptible video, and a processor for coordinating presentation of the humanly perceptible video to play on a television while the buffer receives packets of downstream coded media data from the respective delivery server.

    • The present invention provides a method for automatically cropping a scanned image having irregular boundaries. A pattern sheet is provided on the bottom surface side of the cover of the optical scanner. The pattern sheet is defined by multiple pattern units for serving as referential coordinates. When the scanner is initialized, the pattern sheet is pre-scanned to generate a pre-scanned image. The pre-scanned image of the pattern sheet will be analyzed to get the referential data, including the index, the referential intensity level, and the pixel-positions of each pattern unit. The referential data of each pattern unit will be stored in a database. When auto-cropping an area of interest (AOI) from a pre-scanned image, the pre-scanned image of the original will be logically divided into multiple document blocks according to the positions of the pattern units. Then, compare each document block with its correspondent pattern unit to determine if the document block contains AOI data. After finishing the comparison, group the adjacent document blocks recorded as a region. Finally, crop each region formed by its border line to obtain the AOI.

    • In an RF amplifier circuit having a plurality of transistor stages with each transistor having an input terminal for receiving an RF signal, a bias circuit is provided for applying a DC bias to the input terminal of a transistor. An isolation circuit connects a DC power supply to a bias circuit whereby DC voltage from the power terminal is applied to the bias circuit and RF signal from the transistor input terminal is attenuated. The isolation circuit includes a reactive serial path which allows the flow of DC current and presents an impedance to RF current flow and a reactive shunt path to ground which can comprise a capacitor or a serial inductor/capacitor circuit. The reactive serial path can comprise an inductor or an inductor/capacitor parallel circuit.
