    • This invention, consisting of a mask and an air delivery system, provides the individual user an increased level of protection and additional time to evacuate in the case of an emergency situation where the normal environment has been contaminated (i.e. by fire, chemical spill, etc.). The invention provides the evacuating person with a small amount of portable compressed air (approximately a 10 minute supply) for breathing from a small pressurized canister that resembles an aerosol canister. The air is delivered at a pre-set pressure and flow rate through a self-contained regulating system, to a mask through a plastic air supply tube. In addition, the invention also provides the user with protection for the face and eyes by virtue of a clear plastic hood which is attached to the mask. The invention is designed to be inexpensive, light weight and disposable/recyclable and is a single use apparatus.

    • A porous fiberglass cast system for the setting of broken appendages is herein provided. The present invention uses a simplified technique involving a standard fiberglass bandage typical in most cast Systems. Fastening strips impregnated with a curable resin are sewn or woven in rows along the width of one side and down the length of the other side of the unimpregnated fiberglass bandage. Upon wrapping the bandage to an injured member, the fastening strips overlap and produce a cross-mesh. The nature of the fastening strips allows this cross mesh to initially stabilize the structure during cementing. After curing is complete, the intersecting points of the fastening strips in the cross mesh provide a rigidified cross-mesh structure strong enough to completely immobilize the injured member. The areas contained in the cross-meshing between the fastening strips, not being impregnated with any kind of resin, retain their porosity once the cast is cured. Consequently, these areas become the avenues for moisture evaporation and air circulation, thereby greatly reducing discomfort to the wearer.

    • The formation of test probe structures is described. One test probe structure includes a tip portion and a handle portion spaced a distance away from the tip portion. The test probe structure also includes a body bend portion positioned between the tip portion and the handle portion, and an intermediate portion positioned between the body bend portion and the handle portion. The body bend portion may include a curved shape extending from the intermediate portion to the tip portion. The tip portion may be formed to be offset from a longitudinal axis defined by the intermediate portion. The test probe structure defines a length and includes a cross-sectional area that is different at a plurality of positions along the length. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
