    • The braking and steering brake system of the present invention comprises two master cylinders, operable singly or jointly via brake pedals, with the master cylinders having a primary and a secondary piston each operating in a bore. The primary pressure chambers formed by the pistons are connected to the rear wheel brakes of a vehicle. The secondary pressure chambers are interconnected via a pressure fluid line in any state of operation. The primary pressure chambers via a valve arrangement and pressure medium line are interconnected in both the release position and in the braking position. The brakes of the non-steering-braked front axle are connected to the pressure fluid line. In a steering brake position, through a compression spring, one of the two valve arrangements closes so that only the steered-braked brake is supplied with pressure medium.

    • A supply tank for supplying fluid to a tandem master brake cylinder of a motor vehicle. The tank has a bottom section and a top section which is not shown. The bottom section comprises a partition wall which separates the two chambers from each other, the partition wall being formed with a passage which is arranged approximately in the center of the bottom section. In each chamber, an outlet is configured at each end of the bottom section. From each outlet and along the partition wall toward the middle of the bottom section, there extends one pipe which has an opening respective at its free end. The openings are positioned below the minimum admissible fluid level. The purpose achieved by the configuration of the pipes within the supply tank is that the effect of an inclination of the supply tank does not impair the efficiency of the hydraulic fluid and that, consequently, the outlets are supplied with hydraulic fluid at all times and in any condition.

    • Compensating brake fluid reservoirs with a brake fluid alarm device are required for master cylinders of hydraulic brake systems in automotive vehicles. A float chamber, which is disposed in a compensating reservoir and surrounds a float, is defined by a tubular body suspended from an upper end of the reservoir and a bottom element. After insertion of both parts into the reservoir the bottom element cooperates with the lower end of the tubular body such that the float chamber is closed at least to such an extent that the inflow and outflow of the fluid therefrom is inhibited in order to achieve a damping effect. This enables a quick immersion of both parts into the filled reservoir without brake fluid leaking from the reservoir.
