    • The present invention provides an EIT-based photonic logic gate, which is constituted by EIT-based stack layers of periodic array of photonic crystal (PCs) layers and EIT (Electromagnetic Induced Transparent) material layers. The input probe signals are incident on the first photonic crystal layer, passing through one or more than one PCs-EIT interfaces and transmitted out from the last EIT material layer. Control filed as the enable signals are incident on each EIT layer to activate the optical logic gate. By varying the detune frequency of probe field and Rabi frequency of control field, its band gap structure can be adjusted. Henceforth, the tunable optical EIT-based photonic logic gate can be achieved as user required.

    • A method of image processing in three-dimensional (3-D) head motion tracking is disclosed. The method includes: providing a user's source image to a first processing device; capturing the user's first image and providing it to a second processing device; selecting three facial feature points of the first image from the second processing device to form a 3-D feature triangle; capturing user's consecutive video frames and providing them to the second processing device when the user proceeds with head motions; tracking the three facial feature points corresponding to the consecutive video frames to form a series of actual 2-D feature triangle; rotating and translating the 3-D feature triangle freely to form a plurality of geometric transformations, selecting one of the geometric transformations with acceptable error between the two consecutive 2-D feature triangles, repeating the step until the last frame of the consecutive video frames and geometric transformations corresponding to various consecutive video frames are formed; and providing the geometric transformations to the first processing device to generate a head motion corresponding to the user's source image.

    • An electromagnetically induced transparent (EIT)-based photonic logic gate. The electromagnetically induced transparent (EIT)-based photonic logic gate is a photonic crystal (PC) and electromagnetically induced transparent (EIT)-based stacked layer which is constituted by a photonic crystal (PCs) layers and an electromagnetically induced transparent material layers. For the photonic crystal (PCs) and electromagnetically induced transparent (EIT)-based stacked layer, a probe field is an input signal which is emitted from the photonic crystal layer and a control field is a control signal which is emitted from the electromagnetically induced transparent material layers. The probe field is an input signal which is emitted from the electromagnetically induced transparent material layers. By varying the detune frequency of probe field and Rabi frequency of control field, the band gap structure can be adjusted. Henceforth, the tunable optical electromagnetically induced transparent (EIT)-based photonic logic gate can be achieved.
