    • In order to improve a slide system for machine tools, comprising a base member, at least one guide rail which is held on the base member and extends in a longitudinal direction and a slide guided on the guide rail with at least one guide carriage, in such a manner that the guide rails can be mounted with as great a precision as possible and as easily as possible it is suggested that the guide rail have a guiding area and a base area, that for the connection between the base area and the base member one of the two has a receiving means extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and the other has an insert member insertable into the receiving means, this insert member being inserted into the receiving means in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail, that a clamping element be provided which acts on the insert member in the sense of a secure fit in the receiving means and that the insert member be fixed in a form-locking manner by the receiving means and the clamping element in all directions extending transversely to the longitudinal direction.

    • Methods and apparatus are provided for visualizing a control program of a machine tool. The machine tool is provided with operating units. The operating units may comprise machining units, which are provided with tools, and at least one workpiece receiver in accordance with a machine tool configuation. The machine tool is also provided with a computerized control for controlling movement of the operating units in accordance with a control configuration. Sets of control data are read from the control program with a data processing unit. Virtual operating units corresponding to the operating units of the machine tool, linkings of the virtual operating units, and virtual actions of the virtual operating units are automatically determined taking into account the machine tool configuration and the control configuration. The virtual operating units and their virtual actions are then represented for a user in the form of a machine display.
