    • A stick-type ignition coil device has a central core, and primary and secondary windings wound concentrically around the central core in a coil casing. A positioning part is provided in the casing to define the position of the central core. An insulating resin such as epoxy resin is filled in the coil casing for electrical insulation and fixing of components in the coil casing. A thermal stress releasing member, which is less adhesive to and easily peelable from the insulating resin, is provided on the upper surface of the positioning part. The thermal stress releasing member is separated from the insulating resin and allows the positioning member to move with the central core, thereby minimizing cracks which will occur in the insulating resin formed between the central core and the positioning part.

    • An engine ignition coil device which comprises a coil case composed of a first cylindrical case and a second case having a small tubular hole in its center portion and an upper external shoulder at its open end fitted in an open end of the first case to form a closed end of the coil case and an internal unit assembled from a primary side coil bobbin, a secondary-side coil bobbin having a high-voltage terminal holder projecting from a center of its end flange portion, a rod-shaped core, and a high-voltage terminal attached to the high-voltage terminal holder and having a contact for electrically connecting an ignition plug thereto. The internal assembly is mounted in the coil case by inserting the high-voltage terminal holder in the small tubular hole of the secondary case with a tip of the contact projected outwardly therefrom and formed integrally with the coil case by injecting melted insulating resin into the coil case. Thus, the inner assembly can be easily located and reliably fixed at a given place in the coil case with no additional member, assuring precise forming of an integral device by potting with resin.

    • A distributor for a vehicle includes a housing and a cap operatively positioned on the housing for defining a closed space therebetween. A central electrode and a side electrode are operatively mounted within the cap in a predetermined disposition. A distributor rotor is rotatably mounted relative to the housing and projects within the closed space, the distributor rotor includes an upper end and a lower end. At least one fin is mounted adjacent to the upper end of the distributor rotor for rotation together with the distributor rotor. An air flow guiding member projects into the closed space. An air intake aperture is provided for introducing ambient air into the closed space. A discharge aperture is formed in the cap for discharging swirling air flow induced by rotation of the distributor rotor to travel from the air intake aperture along the air flow guiding member and through the discharge aperture to the atmosphere. The discharge aperture is formed in the cap at a position above the distributor rotor and the air intake aperture is formed in the cap or the housing at a position in a lower portion of the cap or the housing for enabling acidic material generated by a spark to be discharged through the discharge aperture by the swirling air flow.
