    • A tension control device is capable of controlling the tension applied to a printing paper after a paper setting work in a printing apparatus. The tension control device comprises a paper feeding means equipped with a braking unit capable of braking paper feeding motion of a rolled paper supported on the paper feeding means, a tension detecting means for detecting the tension applied to the printing paper, a virtual tension applying means for applying a virtual tension to the tension detecting means, and a braking force control means for controlling the braking force of the braking unit in the paper feeding means in linkage with the tension detecting means. This tension control device ensures automatic tensioning after the paper setting operation without tearing the paper.

    • This invention relates to a remaining paper rewinding device for a paper feeding apparatus in a printing system. This device has a simple structure with a compact size, which can be easily assembled and whose maintenance can be easily carried out.The remaining paper rewinding device comprises a rotary shaft rotatively driven, a pair of Y-form paper roll support members which are oppositely arranged on the rotary shaft, a plurality of paper roll support stems each of which is pivotally arranged on the same circumference of the paper roll support member and in parallel to the rotary shaft so that the opposite support stems are aligned with each other, a plurality of drive units each of which is assembled on the paper roll support stem arranged on at least one side of the paper roll support members, and a drive power transmission unit which can be selectively engaged with the drive unit to transmit the rotating drive force from a power unit to the engaged drive unit.

    • In order to resolve problems where impact force when a pushing member of a splicing device collides becomes large, strength becomes inconsistent as a result of a pushing force due to reactive force, and paper splicing becomes unstable due to it taking time to suppress this, with paper splicing precision falling as a result, a paper splicing device is provided with a pressing member for pressing running paper web taken from one paper roll against the peripheral surface of a paper roll rotatably driven in such a manner that the peripheral surface moves at substantially the same speed as the speed of running of the paper web. The paper splicing device has pressing means for pressing and actuating the pressing member so as to press the paper web against the peripheral surface of the paper roll, and at least one shock absorbing means provided facing the direction of operation of a member coupling as a result of a pressing operation of the pressing means and being capable of absorbing an impact when the paper web is pressed against the peripheral surface of the paper roll.
