    • An optical transmission line monitoring device is provided including a device which calculates a management amount based on an optical intensity of returning light, a reference data storage device which stores reference management amounts beforehand, a detecting device which in response to the calculated management amount being of poorer quality than the reference management amount stored in the reference data storage device detects a distance, creates detection data based on the calculated management amount, and stores the created detection data in a detection data storage device, an alarm outputting device that creates alarm data based on the detection data created by the detecting device, and displays the created alarm data on a screen, an inputting device that inputs selection command data indicating that the alarm data displayed on the screen will not be output, and a removal data adding device that adds, to the detection data stored in the detection data storage device corresponding to the alarm data of the selection command data input by the inputting device, output removal data indicating that it is not a target for outputting by the alarm outputting device; wherein the alarm outputting device changes a display of the alarm data corresponding to the detection data that the removal data adding device adds the output removal data to.

    • Even though a client hospital has made an urgent image-interpretation request, if a designated radiologist is out of an image-interpretation center, a data center transfers the request to a portable terminal of the radiologist. Upon receiving the urgent request, the radiologist accesses the data center to download an image to be interpreted. An application server in the data center forms a whole image by subjecting the original image to a data amount reduction process, and delivers it to the portable terminal. The application server also forms a detailed image by cropping a desired area out of the original image, and delivers it to the portable terminal if necessary. The detailed image has higher resolution than the whole image because it is not subjected to the data amount reduction process. The radiologist makes a medical report with observing the image by the portable terminal and uploads it to the data center.

    • An optical line monitoring apparatus, including: a group information recording portion which records group information about to which splitter respective terminators are connected; a normal information recording portion which records intensities of reflected lights from a plurality of terminators in a state in which a failure is not occurring in optical lines; a monitored information recording portion which records intensities of reflected lights from the plurality of terminators in failure monitoring time; an attenuation amount determination portion which determines a terminator the reflected light intensity of which is attenuated compared with the corresponding reflected light intensity in normal information; and a control portion which determines, if the intensities of the reflected lights of all the terminators connected to the same splitter are attenuated by the same value, that a failure has occurred between the test apparatus and the splitter to which all the terminators are connected.
