    • Interactive database viewing is provided. A server associated with a database accesses a stored result set from a database query. The server presents a portion of the result set in a list view to a client device remote from the server and the cache memory, where the portion presented is based on filter selection based on fields of the data. In response to changes to the filter selection, the server can dynamically alter the list view without having to again access the database. If a change to the filter selection requests data outside the cached result set, the server accesses the database and updates the cached result set. Inline editing of the data in the list view can be applied back to the database by the server.

    • An operator is provided that includes a common drive for charging an operating mechanism and for driving a functional accessory device in predetermined coordinated relationship. The common drive in a specific embodiment is provided as a drive shaft at the output of a drive train. The operating mechanism is charged as the drive shaft is rotated from a first to a second predetermined position. The functional accessory device is also driven via the drive shaft; the functional accessory device being operated from a first predetermined operational state to a second predetermined operational state in response to the rotation of the drive shaft between the predetermined positions. When desired, the functional accessory device is operated from the second predetermined operational state to the first predetermined operational state by subsequent rotation of the drive shaft to the first predetermined position. The operating mechanism is controlled thereafter to close the contacts of one or more interrupting units. The operating mechanism is capable of immediately opening the contacts of the one or more interrupting units after closing. After opening of the contacts of the interrupting unit and when desired, the drive shaft is rotated from the first to the second predetermined position to again charge the operating mechanism and drive the functional accessory device to the second predetermined operational state. In one embodiment of the operator, a charging cam is carried by the drive shaft for charging the operating mechanism. The charging cam, in a specific embodiment, includes a predetermined cam surface that cooperates with the operating mechanism to inhibit movement of the drive shaft and thus inhibits operation of the functional accessory device when the motor of the drive train is deenergized. In one arrangement, the functional accessory device is one or more disconnects with a disconnect being connected in series circuit with each interrupting unit.

    • A pressure- and weather-resistant fuse tube having fiberglass reinforcement which cannot interfere with arc-extinguishment and which does not require an insert or liner of arc-extinguishing material. The fuse tube is molded from a thermosetting material which includes an effective amount of an arc-extinguishing material. The fuse tube includes an inner bore-defining portion and an outer weather-resistant portion which are simultaneously molded along an interface at which is located a layer of porous fiberglass cloth, or filament. The fiberglass is sufficiently porous to permit the material of both portions to pass through and thoroughly impregnate it, thereby locking both portions to each other and to the fiberglass which is located well away from the bore thereof.

    • An improved housing for a high-voltage device which may be subjected to rough handling during installation and to high internal pressure during operation. A flexible, thick outer enclosure is molded about an inner, thin reinforcing layer which has interstices and high tensile strength. The molding locks the enclosure to the layer as the material of the former enters the interstices. The flexibility of the enclosure protects the housing and the device from the effects of rough handling. The flexibility of the enclosure also ensures that it is deformed or stretched sufficiently by high pressures accompanying device operation to ensure that the layer is loaded in tension. Loading the layer in tension ensures that the housing does not fracture or violently rupture.

    • A rapid opening and closing interrupter includes a stationary contact mounted in a cylindrical housing and a moving contact mounted on an operating rod by an opening spring. A trailer formed of a material that produces an arc quenching gas when exposed to an arc is mounted on the moving contact, and an engaging nipple is formed on the end of the trailer. A snap spring engages the nipple in such a manner that when the operating rod is moved in a direction to open the contacts, the contacts remain in engagement until the force exerted by the opening spring overcomes the force exerted by the snap spring on the engaging nipple causing the contacts to snap open rapidly. Vent holes are provided in the moving contact so that arc gase, formed during closing by the pre-strike arc, are released from a gas confining area between the moving contact and the trailer through the vent holes so that a net force results against the trailer in the direction of closing thereby causing the moving contact to accelerate towards closing with the stationary contact.
