    • In a color image forming apparatus in which images of a plurality of element colors are sequentially transferred to form a color image, there are provided a plurality of RAM/register units with respect to one image processing unit. Control information is previously stored in the RAM/register units, so that the switching of the element color to be transferred is achieved by switching the RAM/register units, not by rewriting the contents of the RAM/register unit. Thereby, simplification of constitution and high-speed printing can be achieved.

    • A scanner scans an image of an original document as first image data. A first image processor processes the first image data scanned by the scanner. The first image processor stores the processed first image data to a memory in a state of compressed code data. A second image processor reads the first image data stored in the memory as the code data. The second image processor process the first image data read from the memory for printing. An image synthesizer synthesizes pixel data of the second image data with respective pixel data of the first image data after the image processing for printing by the calculation processing. A printer prints the synthesized image data.

    • A ring buffer is provided in the data holding section A3 of a data processing section 100A. A master-slave relationship between a plurality of data processing sections 100A, 100B is set. A data output synchronizing signal of the data processing section 100A acting as a master is supplied to the data processing section 100B acting as a slave. This makes it possible to synchronize the output data of the individual data processing sections, while suppressing the memory cost. Input connection terminals (A1) take in object data, an object data enable signal (INHDEN) from the outside, and an object read clock (IMCLK) from the outside. A data holding section (A3) stores object data on the basis of an internal clock. A synchronizing circuit (A4) reads the stored object data on the basis of INHDEN and IMCLK. An output connection terminal (A2) outputs output object data, INHDEN, and an internal clock equivalent to IMCLK to the outside.
