    • To provide a disk drive capable of being prevented from rattling due to vibrations by a motor or eccentricity of a disk, support arms formed at both sides of a U-shaped traverse holder of a traverse unit have ribs protruding therefrom. Shaft portions protrude outward from front ends of the arms while bearing portions are provided on sidewalls of a chassis. The bearing portion has an axial hole formed in the side wall and a flexibly deformable, resilient arm extending forward spaced from the sidewall by a given distance, the axial hole having a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion being smaller in height than the rear portion, and the height of the front portion of the axial hole being slightly larger than outside diameter of the shaft portions. The shaft portions are fitted in the axial holes. The ribs are squeezed within the resilient arms.

    • Disc unit having a small number of parts and capable of effecting fitting operation with ease. A chassis is fitted via elastic members to a holder which is disposed to be moveable vertically with respect to the plane of a body frame.     • According to the present invention, an extending portion is integrally formed with a front end portion of a tray, and an upper edge frame is integrally formed with a main body frame above a tray opening thereof. When the tray is loaded in a unit casing, the extending portion and the upper edge frame overlap each other in a front-to-rear direction to form a double structure. The double structure provides both a function of closing the tray opening with substantially no gap and preventing broken disk pieces from being thrown out and a dustproof function. By providing such a simple and inexpensive structure which does not hinder the reduction of thickness, broken disk pieces are reliably prevented from being thrown out, and the dustproof function is provided when the tray is housed.

    • The present invention provides a disk device with an easy-removal disk tray removal preventing mechanism. A disk tray is housed in a main body frame. Operation portions are provided on the first and second stoppers; the operation portions are bent toward the inside of the disk tray to disengage the first rib from the first engaging portion of the first stopper, while disengaging the second rib from the second engaging portion of the second stopper. By bending the operation portions toward the inside of the disk tray, it is possible to disengage the first and second engaging portions from the first and second ribs respectively, and the disk tray is easily removed.
