    • A control unit for a rotary electric machine includes a first current command module, a second current command module, a change module, and a return module. The first module performs a first current command on a maximum efficiency characteristic line on a d-q plane thereby to drive the machine at a maximum efficiency. The second module performs a second current command on a switching line set at a retard angle side relative to the maximum efficiency characteristic line. The change module changes a control mode from a rectangular wave voltage phase control mode to an overmodulation current control mode when an operation point of the machine reaches the switching line. The return module returns the current command from the second command to the first command after performance of the second command for a predetermined period.

    • A lower punch is arranged to be inserted into a cavity of a die from a lower side of the die. A upper punch is arranged to be inserted into the cavity from an upper side of the die to compact the powder filled in the cavity, in cooperation with the lower punch. A feeder supplies the powder into the cavity. A first cam driving system has a first cam for vertically moving the die relative to the lower punch. A second cam driving system has a second cam for vertically moving the upper punch. A third cam driving system has a third cam for moving the feeder forward or backward relative to the cavity. A contact member is connected to the first cam driving system. A stopper is located above or below the contact member and regulates relative vertical movement of the die with respect to the lower punch, in cooperation with the contact member. A fourth cam driving system has a fourth cam for vertically moving the stopper. The first cam, the second cam, the third cam, and the fourth cam are rotated in synchronism.

    • There is provided a culture medium for cultivating mushrooms whose material can be selected from a variety of woody materials and which can be transported in a compact form. There is also provided a method of cultivating mushrooms using such a culture medium in which pathogenic and other germs are less likely to breed and with which mushrooms can be cultivated in shorter periods. After adding nutrients such as rice and wheat brans, a mixture of dried sawdust and chip dust is heated at 150.degree.-500.degree. C. for 1-5 minutes under a pressure of 1.0-3.0 t/cm.sup.2 to form a cylindrical woody culture medium. The medium thus obtained is allowed to swell by adding water and then sterilized by sealing it in a bag. Mushroom fungi is then inoculated into it.

    • An electronic typewriter which provides for significant simplification of machine operations. The typewriter includes automatic error correcting function associated with electronic controls and a memory. A series of text data which have been deleted during an incessant error correcting operation are stored in a specially provided buffer memory from which they can be recalled upon depression of a print initiating key for causing the corresponding text to be printed automatically. An LED indicates that the current print line contains printed characters which can be erased by such automatic correcting operation. The typewriter further provides for simplified indentation and a novel carrier return mode.
