    • A retractor for a seat belt includes a retractor base, a bobbin fixed to a winding shaft rotatably supported to the retractor base for winding a webbing, and a webbing guide having a first positioning portion located on the side of the bobbin and a second positioning portion located on the side of the upper end of the retractor base. The webbing guide is fixed to the retractor base for regulating a webbing moving path so that the webbing wound around the bobbin is drawn out from a prescribed position on said retractor base. The first and second positioning portions each has a protrusion portion provided with a plurality of protrusions abutting on the surface of said webbing and the surface of each protrusion abutting on said webbing forms a smooth bending face. The retractor provides a small change in the contact resistance between the webbing and the webbing guide positioning the webbing in a retractor base and can maintain smoothness of the draw-out and winding operations of the webbing, so that it is effective to improve the reliability of the draw-out and winding operations in the retractor and also general versatility of the retractor.

    • An object of the invention is to provide at low manufacturing cost a clamp-operated retractor including an emergency locking mechanism adapted to lock the rotation of the winding shaft in the webbing pull-out direction in an emergency such as a collision, in which a webbing clamping mechanism is simple in structure, and is able to quickly stop the webbing from being pulled out. In a clamp-operated retractor according to the present invention, control means for moving a clamp 6 to a first position where pulling a webbing is prevented and a second position where pulling the webbing is permitted is composed of: a tension plate 9 which is so arranged as to be rotatable around the same axis as that of a latch plate 4a, and urges a latch cup 13 in a webbing winding direction, and rotatably supports a pawl 11; and a lever member comprising a clamp lever 7 and an outer plate 8 which are supported on side boards 1a in such a manner that the abutting part 8c of the outer plate 8 is engaged with an engaging portion 9d of the tension plate 9 and the slots 7f of the clamp lever 7 are engaged with the shaft of the clamp 6.

    • According to one embodiment, a sharpening module and a grayscale smoothing module are provided. The smoothing module smoothes and reduces grayscale differences in a plain area of an input digital image signal, according to a parameter. A frequency state detection module detects a frequency state of the input digital image signal. A first case to be detected is that lower-frequency components are substantially fewer than higher-frequency components. A second case to be detected is that the lower-frequency components are substantially more than the higher-frequency components. A correction parameter output module outputs a correction parameter which enhances a smoothing process more when the second case is detected than when the first case is detected, the smoothing process being performed by the smoothing module.
