    • Methods and systems are disclosed for providing context information pertaining to a request of a directory assistance operator service based on a context identifier. The context identifier permits the directory assistance operator service to obtain context information including a location of the user and a location relevant to a directory listing search. The context identifier also can be used to pass context information or directory listing information across multiple types of user devices that use different types of services including a television service, a mobile service, a landline telephone service, and Internet service, and third party devices to permit enhanced directory assistance services to be provided to the user.

Some example methods include converting a data stream to a symbol set and selecting a first plurality of symbols from the symbol set. The first plurality of symbols includes at least a first symbol, a second symbol, a third symbol, a fourth symbol, a fifth symbol, a sixth symbol, a seventh symbol, and a eighth symbol. The methods include generating one or plurality of symbols of a second plurality of symbols based on interleaving two symbols selected from the first plurality of symbols. The methods further include weighting some symbols of the second plurality of symbols and generating a matrix based on symbols selected from the second plurality of symbols and the weighted symbols. The methods also include encoding the data stream based on the matrix.

    • In a training cycle, a source node transmits at least one pilot symbol to relay nodes in a training cycle. The relay nodes each amplifies and forwards the pilot symbol to a destination node in an assigned time slot in the training cycle. The destination node sequentially receives multiple versions of the pilot symbol from the relay nodes and estimates channel information based on the multiple versions of the pilot symbol. In data transmission cycles that follow the training cycle, the nodes apply coherent distributed space-time block code (DSTBC) with the estimated channel information to communicate data symbols. The power allocation between training and data cycles may be adjusted to improve the error performance. The nodes may also apply orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based DSTBC when timing errors are not known.

    • A network switch forwards data packets between network stations connected to its input and output ports. Each data packet includes the network address of a destination station. The receiving input port consults an address translation system including a local address translation cache within each input port for caching recently used address-to-port translation information, a set of secondary address translation units each serving a separate cluster of input ports for caching a larger amount of recently used address translation information, and a main address translation unit storing address-to-port translation information for all network stations. An input port not having appropriate translation information in its local cache sends an address translation request to a secondary address translation unit. A secondary address translation unit not having appropriate address translation information to respond to the request, forwards the request to the main address translation unit. The main address translation unit returns the appropriate address translation information to the secondary address translation unit which caches that information and returns it to the requesting input port. The input port caches the information locally and then forwards the packet to the indicated output port.
