    • In a handle steering force control mechanism adapted to stabilize steering feeling of a steering handle by imparting hydraulic reaction to a power steering device when the vehicle is travelling at high speed, a hydraulic control apparatus for supplying stabilized pressure oil to the power steering device and a hydraulic reaction chamber. This hydraulic control apparatus comprises a main spool and a sub-spool slidably inserted into the main spool to form a variable throttle whose open area is varied by relative displacement therebetween. This variable throttle, when the vehicle travels at high speed, closes the main valve side by the sub-spool and opens the hydraulic reaction side to increase reaction pressure. When reaction pressure reaches a predetermined value in response to steering pressure, the main spool is displaced by pressure oil to cut the reaction pressure.

A shock can be appropriately absorbed by relative movements of the two columns in an axial direction. At least one of a first column and a second column press fitted into an opening at one end of the first column is formed with swaged parts on a peripheral wall thereof at a plurality of positions having intervals in a circumferential direction of the column, respectively at a plurality of positions having intervals in an axial direction of the column. Positions of tip ends of the swaged parts are different between a group of swaged parts near the opening at the end of the first column and other groups remote from the opening.

    • A torque transmission device of a four-wheel drive vehicle having a pair of drive shafts includes a hydraulic pump for transmitting torque to both drive shafts through a variable oil pressure generated therein according to the difference in rotational speed between both drive shafts, and a multiple disc clutch for transmitting torque to both drive shafts by a frictional coupling power. The hydraulic pump has a casing and a rotor housed therein. The casing is rotated by one of the drive shafts. The rotor is rotated by the other drive shaft through a transmitting member, a hydraulic piston mechanism and a rotary sleeve. The transmitting member has a clutch operating portion for operating the clutch. When the transmitted torque exceeds a predetermined level, the hydraulic piston mechanism is adapted to move the transmitting member to operate the multiple disc clutch with no intermediary of the casing.

    • An apparatus for controlling a steering force of a vehicle which uses a power steering apparatus in which a driving shaft for a sub-pump for feeding pressure oil into a hydraulic pressure reaction chamber provided internally of a main valve and a main pump for supplying pressure oil for the power steering apparatus is made common to both said pumps to increase an discharge amount and hydraulic pressure of the sub-pump. When speed information and steering angle information of the vehicle are obtained, the hydraulic pressure fed to the hydraulic pressure reaction chamber is controlled by a throttle means subjected to numerical control by output signal of the controller which is provided with predetermined data according to the travelling state of the vehicle and the other throttle means by way of analog control wherein a variation of road resistance is sensitively transmitted as a variation of hydraulic pressure to vary an opening in response thereto, thus always obtaining a proper steering force. The controller further processes an engine revolution information in addition to the foregoing informations to thereby provide a failsafe function for the steering force control device according to the present invention.
