    • The present invention discloses a Keyboard-Video-Mouse (KVM) cable capable of indicating at least one switching status of a KVM switch for at least one computer coupled thereto. The KVM cable further comprises a set of transmission lines for transmitting indicating signals from the KVM switch to the indicator. The KVM cable comprises a plurality of connectors. A first indicator may be disposed on a first connector for indicating a console switching status. A second indicator may be disposed on a second connector for indicating a peripheral switching status. Alternatively, both the first and second indicators can be disposed on the same connector for indicating the console switching status and the peripheral switching status respectively. Moreover, a color mixing LED may also be disposed on either of the first and second connectors for indicating the console switching status and the peripheral switching status by different colors.

    • A method of wake-up scan for a keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) switch is disclosed. The method of wake-up scan includes steps (a) to (d). The step (a) is switching to a target computer. The step (b) is sending a simulated keyboard and/or mouse signal to the target computer for waking up the target computer. The step (c) is transmitting a video signal of the target computer to a console display and the step (d) is returning to step (a) until a termination command is received. The KVM switch includes a switching mechanism for switching to the least one target computer. The switching mechanism can includes a first switching device for video signal and a second switching device for keyboard and/or mouse signal. Alternatively, the switching mechanism includes a crosspoint switch to transmit the video signal, to detect the video signal and to send the simulated keyboard and/or mouse signal simultaneously.

    • Disclosed is a keyboard-video-mouse switch capable of detecting keyword input and recording video data from a computer and keyboard input data from a console and method thereof. The keyboard-video-mouse switch includes a keyword filter and a capture unit. The keyword filter detects whether a predetermined keyword is inputted from the console into the computer and the capture unit records video data if the predetermined keyword is detected. Moreover, the capture unit may record keyboard input data for a complete monitor. The keyboard-video-mouse switch of the present invention further includes an alarm and a keyword database. The alarm will alarm an administrator when the predetermined keyword is detected. The keyword database stores data of keystroke combinations, which is defined as predetermined keyword data for at least one input method.
