    • Aquarium filtration apparatus having a generally trough-shaped filter housing, the rear wall having a bracket portion for hanging on an aquarium, an impeller assembly having a drive magnet being positioned within the bottom of the filter housing with a motor assembly coupled to the undersurface of the bottom with a power driven magnet on the motor assembly in spaced proximate relation to effect magnetic coupling with the magnet of the impeller assembly. An intake assembly is provided in fluid communication with the impeller assembly and with the aquarium water for drawing water from the aquarium into the filter housing. In a first embodiment, the intake assembly is an intake tube having a portion within the filter housing. In a second embodiment, the intake assembly includes a filter chamber within the filter housing in fluid communication with the impeller assembly with an intake tube coupled to the filter chamber for drawing water from the aquarium into the chamber. A top cover is provided with a float having an indicator portion extending through the cover which is viewable when the water level rises to pivot the float. A filter cartridge may be utilized or filtration media may be retained between removable platforms.

    • A rotatable rigid material valve operator is provided having a threaded shank threadedly engaged within a threaded blind bore formed in a valve member constructed of thermo plastic elastomer having an 80-90 "SHORE" scale durometer hardness and snugly slidingly disposed within a valve body bore against rotation relative thereto, the threaded shank being rotatable relative to the valve body against axial displacement relative thereto such that rotation of the threaded shank translates into axial shifting of the valve member within the valve body bore. The compressive resiliency and thickness of the walls of the valve member defining the blind bore are such that the threaded connection between the shank and the threaded blind bore may "slip" independent of "stripping" of the threaded connection between the threaded shank and the valve body threaded blind bore when the valve member is in a limit of axial shifting thereof and the threaded shank is inadvertently further rotated, thereby retaining the threaded connection between the threaded shank and the valve member threaded blind bore for subsequent axial adjustment of the valve member by its threaded connection with the threaded shank.

    • A dispenser for small animal food or the like, the dispenser including a base member having a planar surface and upwardly extending wall portion defining an elongate trough for tiltably receiving a plurality of unitary hopper members, each hopper member having a front wall, sidewalls, a back wall and a bottom with a pivot projection downwardly depending from the bottom, the pivot projection being generally coextensive or co-planar with the front wall. A depressor pedal member is generally co-planar with the bottom and is supported in generally parallel relation with the planar surface of the base with the hopper member supported within the trough. A cover is provided to completely enclose the plurality of hopper members, the cover having an aperture through which the depressor member extends, the cover aperture being in alignment with a hopper aperture formed in the front wall. Depression of the leading edge of the pedal member tilts the hopper about its pivot to permit food to pass down the incline so-formed. The base member is also provided with portions extending upwardly from the planar surface on either side of the depressor member to assist in guiding the food down the ramp or incline surface.
