摘要： An array substrate device having a color filter-on-thin film transistor (COT) structure for a liquid crystal display device includes a gate line formed on a substrate along a transverse direction, the gate line including a gate pad at one end thereof, a first insulating layer formed on the substrate to cover the gate line, the first insulating layer exposing a first portion of the gate pad, a data line formed over the first insulating layer along a longitudinal direction on the substrate, the data line defining a pixel region with the gate line and including a data pad at one end thereof, a thin film transistor formed at a crossing region of the gate and data lines, the thin film transistor including a gate electrode, a semiconductor layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode, a black matrix overlapping the thin film transistor, the gate line, and the data line except a second portion of the drain electrode, a second insulating layer formed over an entire surface of the substrate to cover the black matrix, the second insulating layer exposing the first portion of the gate pad, a third portion of the data pad, and the pixel region, a first pixel electrode within the pixel region and contacting the second exposed portion of the drain electrode, a color filter on the first pixel electrode within the pixel region, and a second pixel electrode on the color filter and contacting the first pixel electrode.

摘要： A method of forming an array substrate for use in a liquid crystal display device includes forming a gate line, a gate pad, and a gate electrode, forming a first gate insulating layer to cover the gate line, the gate pad, and the gate electrode, forming an active layer and an ohmic contact layer on the first gate insulating layer, forming a data line, a data pad, a source electrode, and a drain electrode, forming a second insulating layer to cover the thin film transistor, forming a black matrix on the second insulating layer to cover the thin film transistor, the gate line, and the data line except a first portion of the drain electrode, forming a third insulating layer to cover the black matrix, patterning the first, second, and third insulating layers, forming a first transparent electrode layer to cover the patterned third insulating layer, coating an adhesive color film on the first transparent electrode layer, irradiating a laser to portions of the adhesive color film corresponding to the pixel region, removing the adhesive color film to form a color film, repeating coating the adhesive color film, irradiating the laser and removing the adhesive color film to form the color film within all of the pixel regions, forming a second transparent electrode to cover the color filter and the first transparent electrode layer, and patterning the first and second transparent electrode layers to form first and second pixel electrodes, a double-layered gate pad terminal, and a double-layered data pad terminal.

摘要： Disclosed is a black matrix for a liquid crystal display device (LCD) having an impedance about equal to or more than 105Ω, a specific resistance about equal to or more than 1011 Ωcm, and a relative dielectric constant about equal to or less than 20 at a driving frequency of about 1 kHz to 100 kHz. The black matrix as disclosed has dielectric properties that minimize parasitic capacitance between the black matrix and the circuitry of the LCD, thereby preventing a signal delay in charging pixel electrodes that degrades the LCD image.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes gate and data lines defining a pixel region on a first substrate. A first insulating layer covers the gate line and a gate electrode. A thin film transistor, formed at a crossing region of the gate and data lines, has the gate electrode, a semiconductor layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode. A red, green or blue color filter is formed over the first insulating layer in the pixel region. A drain contact hole exposes the drain electrode. A light-shielding color filter pattern including at least two of red, green and blue resins is formed over the semiconductor layer. A pixel electrode is formed over the color filter in the pixel region and contacts the drain electrode. A common electrode is formed on a second substrate facing the first substrate with a liquid crystal layer interposed between the common and pixel electrodes.
