    • According to an embodiment, a storage apparatus includes a storage unit configured to store a plurality of pieces of data; a communication unit configured to communicate with a plurality of external devices each of which includes a first cache memory in which at least part of the plurality of pieces of data are stored; a write unit configured to write data into the storage unit when the communication unit receives the write request to write the data transmitted from one of the plurality of external devices; and a controller configured to control the communication unit such that the data is transmitted to another external device different from the one external device that has requested the write request.

    • A communication apparatus for dividing voice data into a plurality of packets and transmitting the packets to a destination communication apparatus includes a detection unit configured to detect one of predetermined events which are triggers of change processing of a packet division length used for the dividing, a determination unit configured to determine, when the detection unit detects the one of the predetermined events, a possible range of the packet division length after the change processing based on predetermined external information which influence the packet division length, a negotiation unit configured to negotiate the packet division length after the change processing with the destination communication apparatus based on the range determined by the determination unit, and, a control unit configured to control the packet transmission based on the packet division length negotiated by the negotiation unit.

    • According to an embodiment, a communication apparatus establishes communication with an external apparatus through a higher-level device. The communication apparatus includes a main processor and a key generator. The main processor receives a data authentication request including data to be authenticated, a first key specification, and a message authentication algorithm identifier from the higher-level device. The key generator retains a key hierarchy used by an authentication protocol that is used between the higher-level device and the external apparatus, and to generate a first key by use of the key hierarchy and the first key specification. The main processor generates a message authentication code for the data to be authenticated by use of the message authentication algorithm, which is identified by the message authentication algorithm identifier, and the first key, and transmits a data authentication response including the message authentication code to the higher-level device.

    • The first wireless communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with a first wireless apparatus on a first wireless network. The beacon transmitting unit cyclically transmits a beacon signal to the first wireless apparatus via the first wireless communication unit. The period determiner determines a transmission permission period during which data transmission by the first wireless apparatus is permitted.
