Another one of the methods is a method for facilitating determination of online content to be presented at a communication apparatus. Servers for implementing the methods are also provided.

摘要： A method for effecting communications, such as telephone calls, accesses to data network sites, alarm system communications, and/or other communications, over a communications network. The method comprises: determining that an ability of first end-user equipment at a first end-user premise to communicate via a first communication link connecting the first end-user equipment to the communications network is disrupted; establishing a wireless communication link between the first end-user equipment and second end-user equipment at a second end-user premise; and causing information transmitted by or destined for the first end-user equipment to be exchanged over the communications network via the wireless communication link and a second communication link connecting the second end-user equipment to the communications network. Also provided are apparatus and computer-readable media containing a program element executable by a computing system to perform such a method.

摘要： Methods and systems for presenting online content elements based on information caused to be stored on a communication apparatus by a service provider. One of the methods is a method for presenting online content at a communication apparatus. The method comprises: obtaining information caused to be stored on the communication apparatus by a service provider providing network access to the communication apparatus, the information pertaining to a profile maintained by the service provider; determining an online content element to be presented at the communication apparatus based on the information; and causing the communication apparatus to present the online content element. The online content element may be an advertising content element forming an online advertisement, a primary content element of a network site, or an online page. The information may include location information, personal information, and/or bandwidth information. Servers for implementing the methods are also provided.

摘要： A method, system and graphical user interface for service level selection, for use in connection with a data network that supports multiple service levels. A server monitors usage of a network to identify a communication session and a service level associated with the communication session. The server may also monitor a global usage of the data network. The server determines at least one alternative service level for the communication session and causes conveyance of an offer of a choice of the at least one alternative service level. A graphical user interface causes information regarding the offer to be displayed and allows a user to identify a selected one of the at least one alternative service level. In response to user input identifying the selected service level, the server causes a change in the service level for the communication session.

摘要： The present invention discloses numerous implementations for conveying an audio element to a source device initiating an outgoing call while a user of the source device is waiting for a user of a destination device to answer the call. A call processing system receives a call request message from the source device, determines an audio element from a plurality of audio elements to convey to the source device and initiates conveyance of the audio element to the source device in response to receiving the call request message. The system then causes establishment of a media connection between the source and destination devices and terminates conveyance of the audio element to the source device prior to or substantially simultaneous with the establishment of the media connection between the source and destination devices. In various implementations, the source device may be implemented within the PSTN and/or an IP network. The audio element may comprise an audio file, an audio stream, scheduling information or other audio content. A subscriber associated with the source device may pre-configure the selection of the audio element to be conveyed in replace of the traditional ring tone. A communication device may also implement a method to convey an audio element to a user of the communication device during establishment of an outgoing call.

摘要： According to embodiments of the present invention, there are provided a method, system and apparatus for participant verification in a multi-party call environment. A method for verifying a participant in a multi-party call environment comprises receiving an indication of the user's desire to join the multi-party call. The method further comprises determining a user identifier associated with the user. The user identifier associated with the user is then compared with at least one allowed participant identifier associated with at least one allowed participant for the multi-party call; the at least one allowed participant identifier stored in association with scheduling data for the multi-party call. Responsive to the comparing rendering a positive outcome, the communication device associated with the user is caused to join the multi-party call.
