    • A pelletized medicament dispensing system having a plurality of medicament pellet containing bowls mounted on a rotatable member in a helical array. A control system rotates the array to bring a selected bowl to a packaging station. At the packaging station, a varying magnetic field vibrates the selected bowl effecting movement of a selected number of pellets, one at a time, through a bowl outlet and into a packaging cup. Patient and medicament data is printed on a label that also serves as a package cover for the cup. The package of pellets is then dispensed from the system for use. An electronic control system for automatically dispensing the desired kind and number of pellets, and for printing the desired patient information on the label is also provided. The pelletcontaining bowls are elliptical and are provided with a pair of storage bins which are selectively opened to replenish the bowls.

    • A non-absorbable suture is provided which has a metallic multifilament core having a urethane polymer substantially filling the interstices between filaments, and an outer plastic coating covering and adhering to the urethane polymer. The suture may be prepared by impregnating a multi-filament core of stainless steel filaments, each of which may be about 25 microns in diameter, with a solution of urethane prepolymer and a solvent with a cure retardant. The prepolymer is cured in situ in an oven to produce a flexible urethane polymer, and then a plastic outer coating is applied which adheres to the polymer. The outer coating may be nylon in a solvent which leaves a coating upon evaporation of the solvent which is then fused to form a smooth outer surface.

    • An extruding apparatus for producing tube products, such as medical catheters, having very accurately controlled variations in inside diameter, outside diameter and wall thickness along their length, including a single extruder for producing plastic material and conveying the same selectively to either of two accumulator-injectors through a diverting valve. The accumulatorinjectors are connected to deliver molten plastic selectively in their inject strokes to an extruding die through another diverting valve. The apparatus is constructed so that while the extruder is feeding molten plastic to one accumulator-injector, the other is connected to inject molten plastic into the die by appropriately positioning the die connected diverting valve. The very accurate control over the speed of each of the accumulatorinjectors during their inject phases accompanied by accurate control of air flow to the die interior provide contour tubing having extremely close tolerances rendering such tubing capable of mass production quantities. Other embodiments of the present invention achieving the same objectives are described below.
