摘要： A sliding input method and device are disclosed. The method comprises: upon detection of a sliding input motion, obtaining a character corresponding to a contact position; performing a filtering process on a database based on the character corresponding to the contact position to obtain valid character and obtaining valid string(s) corresponding to a sliding path based on the valid character. During the filtering process, it includes selecting character combination(s) in the database, each containing the character corresponding to the contact position at its predefined character position. When the sliding path satisfies a predefined feedback condition, a valid string is output. According to the present invention, considerable reductions in the required calculation amount and improvements in input efficiency can be achieved.
