    • This invention relates to a labelling station for objects such as bottles with several stations located one behind another along a track, which includes an adhesive application station, a label feed station and a label transfer station. At least one extracting element is mounted so that it can rotate on a driven support plate. The drive mechanism comprises a cam drive mechanism. The cam drive mechanism comprises a stationary double cam disc with two one-sided cams located above one another, and two sets of followers. The two sets of followers are mounted on the drive shaft of the extracting element or on a bearing shaft coupled to it by means of a support element. During rotation of the support plate, the two sets of followers provide, by action of a form-fit with the two cam surfaces, a positive movement of each extraction element over its entire revolution. To achieve a simple and compact construction of the labelling station, the drive or bearing shaft ends above the plane of the first cam disc which is closest to said bearing shaft, thus allowing the first cam disc to extend into the open space below the shaft without interference from the shaft.

    • A labelling machine for bottles or the like includes several stations located behind one another along a track. The stations include an adhesive application station, a label feed station and a label transfer station. There are three extracting elements which are each mounted to rotate on a rotating support to be moved past the stations during each rotation of the support. Each extracting element has an outwardly-curved receptacle surface for the label which rolls along the stations. The drive for each extracting element is a cam drive, which comprises common, stationary double cam discs for all the extracting elements with two cams located on one side in two planes with one above and at some distance from the other. Two sets of followers are mounted on a bearing shaft which is coupled with the rotating support. By means of a form-fit with the two cams, the followers provide positive movement of each extracting element over its entire revolution when the support rotates. The bearing shaft terminates above the plane in which the first cam closer to the shaft is located. The followers which correspond to the other second cam are mounted on a bridge element lying between the two cams. The bridge element is supported by spacer elements on the bearing shaft so that the spacer elements lie outside the area or path covered by the movement of the first cam.

    • A drive shaft is for a rotary plate of a labelling machine for bottles or the like and includes a rotatable turntable of the labelling machine having an upper portion. A circular cam block is mounted below the turntable and has a curved slot therein. The rotary plate is mounted for rotation on the upper portion of the turntable. A drive shaft is mounted for rotation in the turntable and has an upper end and a lower end. The rotary plate is coupled to the upper end of the drive shaft. The lower end of the drive shaft includes a crank arm which is disposed in the curved slot for cammed rotation of the drive shaft during rotation of the turntable. The curved slot includes an opening in the cam block and the drive shaft including the crank arm is alignable with the opening for downward removal from and upward installation in the turntable through the opening. There is also included a feature of the rotary plate being mounted on a base plate which is selectively positionable on the turntable for either direct coupling or geared coupling between the rotary plate and the upper end of the drive shaft.

    • In a processing machine for objects, such as a labeling or filling machine for bottles, comprising a turntable having at least two arcuate transport path sections each for one string of objects and stationary or co-moving processing structure, such as labeling stations or filler spouts, associated with these transport path sections, transfer structure disposed at the points of entrance and exit of the transport path sections, and infeed and outfeed conveyors, the improvement which comprises disposing the infeed conveyor (12) leading to the transfer structure (23, 24) of one transport path section and the outfeed conveyor (20) adjoining the transfer structure (19, 18) of the other transport path section alongside one another and approximately over the center of the turntable (1). The machine can be adapted to perform multiple operations on each path section, such as filling and labeling, and the operations can be different on the two sections. The machine is simpler, less expensive and takes less room than two separate machines, and both sections can readily be monitored by a single machine operator.

    • The invention relates to means for printing on labels at a bottle labelling machine. The machine has glue applying means, a stack of labels and a label transfer station arranged about a circle, at least one pick-up element for the labels, a support for said pick-up element, means for rotating said support and thereby said pick-up element so that pick-up element successively receives glue, picks up a label and transfers it to another member for subsequent application to a bottle, and means for printing said labels prior to application to said bottles. In accordance with the invention the printing means comprises an inking element positioned between the glue applying means and the stack of labels. A roll having a stamp pad jacket transfers printing ink to the inking element and a brush is also provided to wipe the inking element after printing. Sun and planet gears are provided to cause appropriate pivoting of the various elements.
