    • A sheet delivery device is provided that allows for high output and accurate operation during changing of the main stack. The device includes two secondary stack carriers which are normally disposed on opposite sides of the main stack in a first lateral waiting position. The secondary stack carriers are reciprocally moveable between the first lateral waiting position and an operative position. In the operative position, the secondary stack carriers accumulate a secondary stack while the main stack is being changed. This secondary stack is later deposited on the new main stack. Cooperating with the secondary stack carriers are separating elements normally disposed above the secondary stack carriers in a second lateral waiting position. The separating elements are reciprocally moveable between the second lateral waiting position and a separating position. In the separating position, the elements accumulate a temporary stack to form an entry gap above the main stack. The secondary stack carriers, which are plate-like enter this entry gap to arrive at the operating position. The separating elements thereafter deposit the temporary stack on the secondary stack carriers to form the secondary stack.

    • The present specification discloses an apparatus for washing a rubber blanket cylinder of a printing machine. The apparatus comprises a cleaning cloth which extends between a supply roll and a take-up roll, with control and drive means adapted to rotate the take-up roll in a step-wise manner to thus take up uniform lengths of cleaning cloth. A rotatable guide roller is arranged to press the cleaning cloth between said rolls, against the rubber blanket cylinder, the rotatatable guide roller having a resiliently deformable outer surface across which the cleaning cloth is guided. A reversible brush roller is located upstream of the rotatable guide roller in the direction of rotation of the rubber blanket cylinder, and is in contact with said cylinder, and a cleaning agent supply and a water supply are arranged to feed said brush roller. Said control and drive means comprises a crank which acts upon a lever via a connecting rod, said lever being connected to a take-up shaft, in which the take-up roll is mounted, by way of a one-way clutch. The point at which the connecting rod acts upon said lever is variable dependent upon the quantity of cleaning cloth taken up by said take-up roll. The width of the cleaning cloth corresponds only to a portion of the length of the cylinder, and guide and operating means are provided for moving the apparatus transversely along the entire length of the cylinder.

    • An arrangement for metering a blast of air delivered to a driven machine, particularly a sheet separation device of a sheet feeder. A control slide is connected via an air intake opening to a pressure source, and the control slide has an air discharge opening connected to the driven machine and leading into the open. The latter opening is controlled or disconnected during upward movement or stoppage of the machine coupled to the driven machine by means of a control element actuated as a function of the machine speed. The air intake opening and the air discharge opening leading to the driven machine, face each other coaxially, and upon reaching a set final speed, these openings are connectable by means of a coaxial recess passing through the control element. A rotary valve plug with a through-bore is provided to form the control element. The air discharge opening leads to the outside and is located offset relative to the air intake opening in the valve plug direction of rotation corresponding to a speed reduction. The through-bore of the valve plug in this region has an oppositely-directed expansion corresponding to the amount of offset. The valve plug is connected by a crank arm mounted on a bearing trunnion, and this crank arm is connected to a servomotor operating as a function of the machine speed.
