The supplemental node is selected based on providing better channel conditions between the network and the user equipment in the second direction than the serving node. The supplemental node thus provides transmission assistance for the serving node in order to provide the best available downlink and uplink communications between the user equipment and the network.

摘要： A method and system for formulating an SINR metric for cells using only the existing RSRP and RSRQ measurements. With this method and system side information is exchanged between eNBs of an E-UTRAN using the X2 interface where the X2 interface carries the X2 Application Protocol (X2AP). The side information is introduced either within X2AP messages exchanged between NB nodes or via modification of existing X2AP messages. Serving cell system information block (SIB) messages may also be modified or new SIB messages introduced to facilitate computation of an SNIR metric at a UE.

The at least two spatial beams are swept across the cell segment according to a sweep pattern. In some implementations, multiple antenna assemblies can be used, where each antenna assembly has plural antenna elements. A lower one of the antenna assemblies can be used to form high and lower power beams, and an upper one of the antenna assemblies can be used to communicate backhaul information, for example.

摘要： Methods and systems for dynamically computing a schedule defining interconnections between ports in a switching system. In one embodiment, a switching core requests demand reports from the ingress ports. In response to this request, the ingress ports generate a series of suggested port schedules, beginning with a first choice, then a second choice, and so on. The schedules are transmitted to the switching core, beginning with the first choice. The switching core receives the first choice for each of the ports and determines whether the aggregate schedule defined by the first choices is valid. If the aggregate schedule is valid, then this schedule is implemented. If the aggregate schedule is not valid, portions of it are discarded and the next choice from each of the ports is examined to identify connections to replace the discarded portions. This process is repeated until a valid schedule is obtained.
