    • An on-line sipping air delivery system that propels bubbles across the entire surface of the fuel assembly. A pump delivers liquid through an aspirator located near the bottom of the fuel handling mast. Liquid flow through a venturi in the aspirator causes a drop in pressure inside the aspirator and pulls air into the aspirator through an ambient air line that extends above the surface of the liquid. The air is mixed with liquid as it flows through the aspirator and the mixture is injected under the fuel assembly through nozzles positioned at the bottom of the assembly. Suction nozzles above the liquid level at the top of the fuel assembly are used in a conventional manner to capture and deliver the released air and gases to appropriate testing equipment.

    • A co-ordinate measuring system for determining the relative measurements of an object is disclosed. The system utilizes a probe which has a plurality of faces which are interconnected so as to form two parallel "X" co-ordinate probe surfaces (12) and two parallel "Y" co-ordinate probe surfaces (14). At the instant the probe contacts a surface on the object being measured, an electrical circuit is completed through the probe to ground potential via the object, causing the measurement to be displayed on a visual display device (20 or 22). In this manner, measurements along the "X" and "Y" co-ordinates can be made and recorded at the instant the probe contacts the respective surfaces. An automatic unlatching feature is provided wherein the probe must be a predetermined distance from both the "X" and "Y" surfaces before the system automatically resets.

    • An inspection device for the upper internals of a nuclear reactor comprising an elongated probe body which is lowered through a central aperture in a support plate that forms part of the upper internals and includes a plurality of vertically extending control rod apertures. Radial channels extend outwardly from the central aperture, each communicating with corresponding control rod apertures. A radially moveable transducer is mounted to the probe body and the latter is rotatable to a position for accessing each channel for radially moving the transducer into the channel. The transducer detects the profile of the channel. An area of particular interest is the area of communication between the channels and the control rod apertures. This area is susceptible to wear due to vibrations of the control rods.
