    • A method and apparatus for continuously monitoring and controlling the composition of a stream of milk is disclosed. A portion of the continuous stream of milk is heated and coupled to a vacuum degasser where the gas in the milk is removed. A portion of the milk is then heated to 45.degree. C. and conveyed to a sound velocity test cell. A second portion of the milk is heated to 65.degree. C. and conveyed to a second sound velocity test cell. The rate at which a sound pulse traverses the milk in each of the cells is determined by determining the frequency with which the pulses traverse the milk in each of the test cells. The resulting frequency is proportional to the velocity of sound through the milk. The frequency values are coupled to a computer wherein two simultaneous linear equations are solved to arrive at the percent fat and the percent solids-not-fat in the milk. In the preferred embodiment, the butterfat level in the milk is controlled by controlling the quantity of cream added to skim milk in accordance with the output of the computer. The solids-not-fat level in the milk is also controlled by controlling the quantity of skim milk concentrate added to skim milk in accordance with the output of the computer.

    • An electrical assembly includes a wiring device and an insert clip or attachment member that can be preassembled to provide quick connection to an electrical box, mud ring or other support structure having an aperture with a dimension to receive the clip member. The clip member couples to the mounting screws of the wiring device and is snapped into an aperture or recess in a mud ring. The clip has outwardly projecting tabs engaging the mud ring and inwardly extending tabs engaging the mounting screws. The tabs allow the mounting screws to be pressed into the clip in a sliding manner and allow the clip to snap into the aperture in the mud ring. In another embodiment, the attachment member has a substantially C-shape having an open side that can slide onto a pair of projections on an inner edge of a mud ring for supporting the electrical device.

The tabs allow the mounting screws to be pressed into the clip in a sliding or ratcheting manner and allow the clip to snap into the aperture in the mud ring.

    • An integrating processor element containing a data processor that provides a computer with those functions normally associated with the Central Processor Unit (CPU) but which possesses architectural features to prevent compromise (i.e., unauthorized dissemination) of data in a multi-level secure environment. The data processor executes instructions from an internal instruction memory which cannot be altered by the data processor and cannot be accessed by the I/O processor (i.e., I/O controller). The instruction memory is segmented providing a separate segment for each discrete level of secure data to be processed. Each computer program is stored in the segment corresponding to the highest level of security of the data it will use. A second memory, called the hand-off memory, is a read/write memory accessible by the I/O processor as well as the data processor. The hand-off memory is also segmented by security level. A computer program may only write in the hand-off memory in the segment corresponding to the same security level as the segment in the instruction memory in which it is stored. A computer program may read, however, from any segment corresponding to the same or a lower security level. The data processor contains a security register which provides the hardware assurance that a computer program can access only permitted data. A memory address translator within the data processor is provided to permit relocation of segments within the hand-off memory without corresponding changes to any computer program. This feature enables generation of computer programs having lower classifications than the data upon which they operate.
