    • An imaging surface field reconditioning method and apparatus are provided for reconditioning, in the field, a marking material control pattern on an imaging surface of in an image producing machine. The imaging surface field reconditioning apparatus for practicing the method includes (a) an abrading device including an abrasive member having an abrasive surface; (b) a drive assembly for moving the imaging surface of the imaging member along a first plane; (b) a first moving device for moving the abrading surface of the abrading member into contact with the imaging surface for forming a surface reconditioning nip therewith; and (d) at least a second moving device for simultaneously moving the abrading surface along the first plane, and translating the abrading surface back and forth against said imaging surface along a second plane, for reconditioning the marking material control pattern on the imaging surface, thereby preventing marking material drawback during subsequent image formation, and thereby improving imaging quality.

    • Provided is a collapsible antenna formed of one or more generally planar and vertically inclined inflatable panels. According to the invention, each of the panels has a continuous outer wall, a continuous inner wall and a plurality of web partitions extending between the inner and outer walls to form a series of tubular members. The inner wall of the collapsible antenna is at least partially covered by a metallic material and a plurality of dipole elements are affixed to the web partitions and spaced from the inner wall in a predetermined relationship such that the antenna will operate at a preselected frequency when inflated.

    • A comprehensive system is disclosed for the pattern forming and loading of packaged bakery products into pallet trays or baskets (herein collectively referred to as baskets) for delivery to stores. An arrangement of basket and product conveyors delivers product packages to a pick-up station and baskets to loading positions. A programmable robotic loader is fitted with a special gripper adapted for the pick-up of groups of the packaged goods by applying suction to the product packages and physically laterally confining the suspended bags. The programmed loader picks up product groups and places them in a programmed, optimal pattern in the shipping basket. The special gripper mechanism enables the robotic loader to execute rapid translational and rotational motions in transferring product to the shipping baskets in a desired orientation. A unique form of continuously running, free roller conveyor delivers the product packages to the pick-up station, while isolating soft, compressible products from forward pressure from the conveyor. A novel arrangement of basket conveyors enables a single primary basket infeed conveyor to reliably supply a plurality of product loading stations with empty baskets for product loading. The primary conveyor is associated with a plurality of secondary conveyor sections, to which baskets are diverted on demand without significantly holding up the forward flow of empty baskets to other stations.

    • Provided is a method and apparatus for deploying an inflatable antenna from a compressed storage position on the trailer bed of a transport vehicle. A support structure is provided having a pair of spaced apart actuating rails for engagement with the antenna during deployment and a storage compartment stored on the trailer bed of the transport vehicle. The storage compartment is formed of a base wall which is pivotally affixed to both the trailer bed and one end of the compressed antenna, and a deployment structure affixed to the opposing end of the compressed antenna. The deployment structure is partitioned lengthwise to form first and second shelter compartments which are hinged together at one end and pivotable with respect to one another between a closed storage position and an open A-frame position. The shelter compartments further have engaging means for engagement with the support structure actuating rails when opened to the A-frame position to pull the deployment structure and the compressed antenna away from the base wall while inflating the compressed antenna. In operation, the base wall and the deployment structure are elevated from the trailer bed and the deployment structure is disengaged from the base wall. Thereafter, the deployment structure is positioned on the support structure and the shelter compartments are pivoted about their hinged axis and secured in an open cantilevered position. The shelter compartments are thereafter engaged with the support structure and pulled away from the base wall while the antenna is inflated.
